  I've got a Prius from Enterprise, its an 08reg but MY06 on all the paperwork. The remote key doesn't work all the time, I replaced the battery to no avail. It will lock but never unlock, so to unlock you have to remove the keyblade - which sets the alarm off. Anyone got any ideas? Enterprise don't have the spare and Toyota dont seem interested at the moment.

  I used to get this happening intermittently without the beeps, this is now happening all the time and all I have done is to have a new battery fitted in the last week. Does this sound like a sensor issue ? Thanks Mike

  Now all of a sudden, pressing the clutch down as far as possible does not allow me to start it, the battery is fine and there is no key fob issue, I believe that its a factory fit immobiliser. Regards Intermotion

  When you turn it on the "KEY" light goes green if the fob is in the car and off when the engine starts. It's now taken to flashing for a while after the car has started. I'm guessing the battery in the fob needs replacement. Any thoughts? If so, do both fobs need to be done at the same time and is it something only the dealer can do? Thanks.

  pls can anyone advise me of the size of battery a peugeot 306 key fob takes. also if the led does not flash does that mean its broken. How can i test if my Infa red key fob works. it does not unlock my doors but all the doors open when the key is used.

  The offside I can at least open up but looks like it will be impossible and fiddly to reach unless I become double-jointed and can do it blindly; access to the nearside is completely blocked by the battery, but would then suffer the same issue. There would be the same problem with the main beam bulbs! Can anyone offer any advice - is this a headlight assembly out job?! Thanks.

  The car drove 50yards without the alternator charging then stopped it has never re-started! Citroen main Dealer has fitted a new battery, high pressure fuel pump, camshaft sensor, water pump and cam belt. £1400 later still no start. Any ideas?

  hi all can anybody help with my problem i have a renault laguna w reg the key fob only works when it wants to i have put new batteries in but still the same i have also tried the spare fob but still the same it must be on the car side thats the problem but i have not got a clue has anybody got any ideas or had this problem many thanks..

  This seems to be quite common with these. I've checked the battery and this is OK, although the voltage measurement is only 12V. Voltage at the glow plug relay is down to 11v then by the time it gets to the glowplugs it is down to 10v. I'm assuming this is the cause of the poor starting - loads of white smoke then lumpy for about 10 - 15 seconds, after that it runs OK - but don't really know where to go with this, I'm used to petrols.

  I have a 1974 midget 1275 in my garage that I have not driven for 7 years. It has just been left and not started. Yesterday I replaced the battery and put some fuel into the empty fuel tank and it fired up straight away after it chugged for a bit. The brake pedal is as hard as a rock. What kind of work will be required to get the brakes working again for an mot.

  03 Toledo 110 hp TDi with 110k miles The alarm in my daughter's Toledo has just started the irritating habit of going off for about a minute and then switching itself off again - it happens around two or three times a day. Could this be an indication of something relatively simple like the battery dropping below voltage or is it likely to indicate something more sinister?

  A neighbour has problems with the remote keyfobs not working intermittently. We have changed the batteries but the problem still persists. Before taking it to a Mercedes dealer (and opening wallet wide) can anyone give us any basic things to check. Where is the alarm/remote unit on the car as |I was wondering if we unplugged it it may be a connector problem.

  Just bought the above for junior. Basic in the extreme.... no battery (kick start) so lights and electrics run from alternator. Bought Peugeot indicator kit: instructions laughably brief. Doing fairly well, but three wires to connect to the relay: two purple, one green.

  hi all, just a quick question. does anyone know where the switch for the cooling fan is positioned on a scenic megane. had one nip in today said he'd had the Rad repaired but the garage it went too had left the intake pipe off. subsequently he heard it fouling on the fan. once he fitted it he noticed that the fan was not working when at working temp. i took a feed off the battery and the fan itself works perfect. any suggestions please?

  The engine sparked, ran for a while, then died - now it's turning over but not catching. Has done this before, the AA checked the fuses, battery and spark plugs (all fine). It's a petrol engine, ~65000 miles, K reg. Is this likely to be electrical (spark not getting through?), fuel (fuel not being supplied properly), or something else (gaskets seem to be a problem on AX's...)?

  I have no handbook so although I've found a fuse box next to the drivers door and one next to the battery, I haven't worked out what's wrong. Any tips on what goes wrong, relays, fuses, column switches? I may be heading to Halfords tomorrow for a Haynes manual, assuming one is available. Thanks, Chris

  HELP PLEASE ! Am Half way through changing the steering wheel on my '97 Citroen ZX 1.9TD. Safely disconnected battery and removed airbag unit without mishap. Removed hub nut as directed by Haynes, but no amount of persuasion seems to remove the old steering wheel. It seems stuck fast, even after liberal amount of penetrating spray to help free it off.

  Hi all. We had a cold spell in the UK and now my xantia won't start. I've charged the battery and tightened the terminals, the engine turns over and almost started once but that's all.   The drivers side window of my R reg XK8 will not drop (it raises half an inch instead when the door is opened) to enable the door to close after exiting the car. I have tried the re programming sequence several times to no avail, I have made sure that the battery is fully charged as this has caused problems with the general electrics in the past but this has made no difference. Can anyone help please before I take it in to my local Jag Dealer and spend a small fortune.
