Mini Recall 3 Oct 2001 (News)
There is a possibility of rear wheel bearings failing due to water ingress which, if left unchecked, could cause the wheel to detatch from the stub axle. Vibration and noise caused will alert most owners long before the wheel falls off, but the cars are being recalled as a precaution. NOTE this is, of course, the old Rover Mini, not the new BMW MINI. -

£20 Golf Mk II at Auction Today 3 May 2004 (News)
Huge crowds of bankholidaymakers packed two halls at Blackbushe and picked up some bargains on a rare day off work. That £20 year old Mk II Golf 1.3CL was 20 years old, a VCAR total loss and 81k miles that could in no way be warranted. But it ran, had a couple of months MOT left and now that scrap prices have risen again was worth more than £20 to a breaker. -
A Grand Monday: Skoda Felicia, £595 17 Oct 2016 (News)
Cars from the Eastern Bloc have a bit of a cult following, and we think this one has huge potential for just £595. That’s not a lot of money to pay for any car, let alone a 21-year old Skoda that has covered fewer miles than most two year old examples. According to the MoT history, this 1995 Skoda Felicia 1.3 GLi has covered less than 4000 miles in the past decade, and a staggeringly low 12,431 miles from new – it’s as close to a new example as you’re likely to find. -

Big Stuff Goes Belly-up at Auction 8 Jun 2001 (News)
A well specced-up 106,000 mile 97P BMW 740i hit the buffers at £12,500. And a 97,000 mile 98R Volvo S70 2.5SE auto couldn't crack £5,650 which is almost old police car money. We've been adding more to HJClassics - and there's more to come 4 Nov 2013 (News)
The unimaginatively titled Our Classic Cars section is devoted to our capers in he old cars the we own ourselves - and although it's currently listed to just my rag-tag fleet, it will expand as the site expands. Currently I'm running a Lancia Delta Integrale, a Citroen XM is joining in as - hopefully - my reliable winter workhorse, and there's also a Toyota Celica GT-Four, which I reckon must be the emerging classic performance car bargain of the decade. -

Aewsome New 200mph Ferrari 575M 2 Mar 2002 (News)
The 'M' in the name does not stand for Maranello. Instead it indicates 'Modified' as huge changes have been made between the 550 and the new car. The most important is the gearchange. Wonderful machine that it was, the gated change of the old 550 was at best clunky and at worst far to slow for a beast of such awesome performance. -
