  • BMW - E90/E92 3 series floormats 2 Jan 2008 (Forum)
Yes, floormats!! Having changed earlier this year from an E46 coupe to an E92 coupe, I'd ordered BMW's floormats, having been pleased with the fact that, whilst they are expensive at £75 for the set, they will stand going through a washing machine with no problems. The mats for the new model, though, are poorer.

  • BMW 530D E39 Rear Wheel Bearing Rumble 5 Jul 2007 (Forum)
A local garage (who local legend has it is managed by a decendant of a Mr.D.Turpin) has quoted £250 all in to fix - but can do it for me promptly (in a couple of days). My trusted local BMW indy has quoted £150 all in but can't schedule it in until Thursday next week - 8 days. Is it likely to cause any damage in that time - I don't anticipate any high mileage during this period - probably around 300 miles.
  • BMW 318 1993 Have I got Remote C/L 28 Oct 2006 (Forum)
I recently bought a 3 series BMW on an L plate. I'd have thought it would have had remote C/Locking but the previous owner (it's fourth previous owner) said the car didn't have it. It has a key with a button and what looks like a small led 'transmitter' type thing.
  • BMW 318 Unused for 8mnths. Back to life? 8 May 2006 (Forum)
I have a BMW 318 E36 that is 11 years old, and was regularly used up until 12 months ago when it was replaced (but not sold). The MOT expired in October 05, and it has been effectively laid up on my drive, exposed to the full nasties of the British winter since then.
  • BMW 316i '93 8 Jan 2006 (Forum)
i have a bmw 316i 1993 and would like a little help in problem solving. firstly when i start up the car it dont sound right,it sounds how a diesel car sounds.(its petrol car and only way i can descibe it) and when i am driving and pressing the accelerator it sounds very 'throaty'. originaly i thought there war a hole somewhere in the exhaust. i had a mechanic look at it at the national tyre garage and he said that he cant find it blowing, but it sounds a bit rattly.
  • BMW 530d Service Indicator 15 Dec 2005 (Forum)
Does the indicator mean QUICK! DRIVE TO THE DEALER RIGHT NOW! or does it mean 'Service due within x,000 miles'? The car is under BMW warranty and voiding it would be most undesireable.
  • The New BMW Service Thread 7 Jun 2005 (Forum)
So best thing to do I guess would be to start a new one on the subject so that I dont confuse any one. My post was; I?ve just booked my BMW (316ES, on 53 plate) in for its first service. Done 15000 miles in its 18 months of life. The quote was £160 for what is essentially an oil change, which is on the expensive side when compared to Ford, Vauxhall etc, but not a made price.
  • BMW rattle 4 May 2005 (Forum)
Evening all, My mums running one of the last original BMW compacts, a 316i with the 1.9 engine on an X-plate with 58000 miles on the clock. She told me that theres a rattle coming from somewhere under the bonnet and I've had a look and found where the rattle is coming from.
  • Banger part-ex? 27 Apr 2005 (Forum)
It was only when i came back to my Ka afterwards that i noticed something odd about it, on the bottom of the front no. plate i noticed 'Holland Park' with the BMW logo next to it! Am i right in thinking that assuming it was the previous owner, he or she part exchanged this scruffy 205 for a BMW in at a rather upmarket BMW dealer in west London? Mind you things happen for a reason i suppose, a pay rise?
  • BMW 520i sport Avus 2 Feb 2005 (Forum)
The car seems to have a good spec, but would all those in the know consider it to be a good long term family car. Could the current BMW owners tell me of likely running costs. The car looks great but is at the extreme top end of my budget (it's actually well over, the wife thinks it's £13'000). Will I have to re-mortgage to run it and is it likely to suffer horrendus depreciation?
  • BMW E46 Boot Rattle 27 Jan 2005 (Forum)
I have a 2001 BMW 325 Cab. Going over uneven road (raised ironworks, minor bumps and the ever increasing number of sleeping policemen) there is a rattle which appears to come from offside rear of the boot. It only happens as the offside rear wheel goes over the uneven road.
  • BMW 5 series 2nd hand buy? 7 May 2004 (Forum)
My wifes heart is set on a BMW 5 series and I must admit they do seem a good 2nd hand buy now. With a maximum of £6000 to spend we have been looking at a number of high mileage 1996/97 cars. I am not considering anything without a lot of history but I am just wondering if anyone has any hints or tips as to what to look out for?
  • Is my brother mad ? 6 Feb 2003 (Forum)
He's just landed a new job and has celebrated by buying a used BMW Z3 M Coupe (the one with two seats and a hatch that looks like Batman's car). He got a good deal on it. But then a friend saw the very same car in a back copy of EVO - it turns out that it was originally owned by BMW and used as their press car.
  • BMW diesel starting - can this be true! 6 Dec 2002 (Forum)
I recently bought a 94 BMW 325 TDS SE. Quite happy so far but starting the thing from cold takes about 25 secs of churning. Even the handbook says this is right. Can this really be true? I thought the Germans had technical things like this sussed.
