• Laguna 95 RT Climate Control 'Service' 18 Dec 2004 (Forum)
  Approximately 30 seconds after turning the ignition on, my climate control displays 'service'. The air conditioning does't work, nor do the fans. Thinking it was due an air con service, I contacted a Renault dealer and explained the fault. The dealer suggested that it probably wasn't an air con service but something else.

  Anyone able to recommend a place to get air-conditioning serviced in the Gatwick area? A 1999 Ford Galaxy has a problem with vibration. Possibly the air-con clutch.

  I'm considering buying a R reg 306 and I have a few queries. The first one is regarging air con, I had built my hopes up about getting air conditioning in my new car! The one I am looking at doesn't have it, for those of you of that have air conditioning do you believe it makes a huge difference?

  The boing noise is still occurring every 20 or so seconds with the accompanying drop and rise in revs, and the air is now no cooler than it was before I took it to the garage. I also noticed there are no condensation drips from underneath the car. It makes no difference if the air con is on auto or manual, and the 'boing' noise stops when the air con is turned off.

  my mk3 golf has neither aircon or sunroof and i wondered if there was some kind of cold air filter i could get that would hopefully give me a nice cold breeze through the heater controls. and just out of interest is it possible to have air con fitted and at what cost

  Help please,on my astra 1.6 auto (2000) it looks like there are two temp sensors,one has a two wire connector and is screwed into inlet manifold,the other is a single wire connector and is screwed in near the thermostat housing which one does what??  Also is the radiator cooling fan control modual different on an automatic with air con from one without air con or manual/auto..Thankyou..

  When the garage looked at my belt problem today they first checked all the pulleys and noticed the air con one was loose. On closer inspection the top bolt was missing and the bottom right bolt had snapped off. When a new fanbelt was fitted it came straight off due to a unstable air con unit. I was informed the engine would need to come out and the bolt would have to be drilled thru or we can just ignore air con and put a normal fan belt on and have no air con.

  However, I have increasingly become of the opinion that the garage is either: 1. not doing jobs correctly, or 2. not doing them at all I had my air-con re-gassed in June. Straight afterwards, I noticed a low 'thump' on engaging the air-con after about 10 seconds. I telephoned an air-con specialist, who advised me that the unit had been over-pressured.

  I have a Toyota Rav4 sept 03 2Years old I have been advised by my service garage that the air con is recommended to be re-gassed after 2 years. can anyone tell me if this is really neccessary after such a short time at a cost of £85

  Hi all, As the subject says the air con on my 2000 reg BMW 323i has broken down. There's roughly 100k miles on the clock. A local garage recharged it about a month ago, giving me the impression that this would solve the problem. However, while this fixed it for three weeks or so there is now no cold air coming out at all, which I assume means that it is leaking.

  Is it worthwhile re-gassing my air conditioning with a recharge canister from Halfords? The car is a year 2000 model which I have just bought. I doubt that the air-con has been serviced in recent years. Do I need to spend out on a specialist service or do those canisters work?

  But we'll leave that for now... The Air-con was lovely and cold when I picked the car up, I've been using the car (and thus the air-con) 2 or 3 times a week since, and over the last week or so have noticed it's not been managing to get as cold as it was when I picked it up, to the point this weekend where it wasn't changing the temperature of the air at all.

  Has anyone seen an aftermarket air con system that can be installed yourself? I'm imagining something you plug into the cigar lighter and then connect some hoses through the window. Thanks for any suggestions.
