  2001 Peugeot 306...1.9d non turbo.. 120,000 miles.. In Spain.. very good shape.. I just returned from a 700 mile roadtrip. After approximately 200 miles I was driving on the highway around 65mph and all of a sudden the tyipical "nuts and bolts in a coffee can" noise appeared  and was impossible to miss, much louder than the normal idle noise..

  I bought a Peugeot 307 HDi 110 a few weeks ago but it seems a bit down on power. I cleaned the MAF and performance improved however still seems sluggish. Its not so bad after 2000rpm but 1000-2000rpm can feel like pulling off in an oil tanker Also if I floor it from 1000rpm the car will do virtually nothing then suddenly start to pull at around 2000rpm, like really bad turbo lag.

  I like the car but something is giving me a nagging feeling and not sure what! It's up at £10300 at a Peugeot dealer. Alternatively, are there any other bigger coupes along the same lines these days? Audi/BMW likely out of price range.   Thanks Andrew

  Hi this is my first post and Im a tad concerned about my new car I just got a 2002  peugeot hdi model 2.0 (variant 3crhy?) and its got the anti-pollution warning (goes off when you drive?) the engine management light is on and stays on when you drive and also a stop light keeps flashing at me.

  However, while checking, I discovered that there was a metal ball bearing missing form the hole that feeds the vacuum pump with oil. Now, I've been & got another one from peugeot, but my question is, how do I fit it?? I've tried fitting it in the end of the hole, but it won't go. It looks like it needs to go 'in from the back.' Anybody know of how I can do this? Or do I need to take the head off again?

  hi im pretty new to this site although i have been following recent posts and have been impressed with the knowledge thats been passed around. I own a Peugeot 308 1.6hdi (millage is 33k)  and for while its been making a low pitch whine from around the auxiliary belt area, i took it to my local dealer  two weeks ago who said that most likely a new belt would be required although they had none in stock so i had to wait to today before the work was carried out.

    I've just had the alternator belt and battery replaced and a subsequent software reset aswell at a Peugeot dealer.  Car has been fine since Monday when I got it back.  Drove to the shop today and it was fine.  Got in the car to come home, when the car turns over, it feels like the car is rattling and that the engine missing a beat, when I drive it there seems to be no power when I change gear either just driving along, go to turn in a junction there is no power when I press down on the accelerator.

  My peugeot 406 hdi 02 reg doesn't start up. Problem started around xmas when temperatures fell. I've noticed on the dash thermo that if the temp outside is above 11deg cent it starts and any lower it needs a squirt of easy start while someone cranks the engine.

  Hi john, I am an overseas student. Recently bought a peugeot 406 HDI 2.0 Y reg off a dealers. For some reason, everytime I start the engine, this Antipollution fault comes at the display for a few seconds and then vanishes off. And the check engine lights lit as well through out the whole drive.

  I wonder if anyone can help with this one ? I have a 2001 Peugeot 306 HDI 2.0 with the error code P0220 Throttle position sensor error. I have had a couple of these changed in the past after which the error went away for a while, 10 months was the longest. I can't believe 2 sensors have failed, so think the problem lies elsewhere.

  Hi all I have a 2003 Peugeot Partner Combi 2.0 HDi. After having the cambelt changed recently the engine has developed a problem. When the engine is hot it will not start. When it is cold (eg left overnight) it starts and runs normally.

The AA Car Data Check highlights a mileage discrepancy: BVRLA - MEMBER 18/04/2008 28,826 RMI MIL'GE - SCHEME 18/02/2008 24,463 RMI MIL'GE - SCHEME 24/08/2007 20,375 RMI MIL'GE - SCHEME 28/07/2006 10,782 Current mileage is just under 26000!

  The horn on my Peugeot 406 2.0 HDi Estate isn't working. Having de-cyphered the fuse location description of "buzzer" as the horn I have checked that the fuse (engine bay fuse panel, Fuse 5) is good and that there is a good 12V to the input side.

  Help We have a 53 plate 2.0 HDI and recently every journey has seen the "anti-pollution Fault" light appear and a corresponding rev cut to 2200 rpm - switch engine off for about 30 minutes, fault reset and car back to normal. (Peugeot gave it a good ignoring on the last service) Yesterday as usual light came on about ten miles later going up a hill car made what sounded like a pinking sound and then started to self rev to 5000 ish rpm and emmitted enough white smoke to fill three lanes of the an A road.

  I was advised to get the flywheel and clutch assembly changed at a cost of £600 + labour. I have now read about problems with the dual mass flywheel so have contacted Peugeot who advise that because it hasn't actually failed I cannot claim under their warranty. Now this vehicle is a 7 seater and is often carrying children so I find the fact that they would like me to have an accident in their vehicle quite distressing.

  Hi, I've been having trouble starting my Peugeot for a while now and I have all of the indications of glow-plug failure (rough running until warmed up a little etc). One specific glow-plug has been failing consistently on being changed (1 month or so) and has been giving the above indications.

  I have a Peugeot 306 gti 6 whichwe bought it on the understanding we need to get this problem sorted if any one can help. I can go out to the car and turn the key and it will start 1st time the car always drives normal but i can go out to it and the dash lights will come on and the car will turn over but wil not start. so i turn the key of and wait 10 secs then turn again and most of the time it will start straigt away but some times this will go on fo 3 4 may 5 times before it will start the plip on key works fine but locking and unlocking the car and the immobiliser works when car is locked if this helps thanks Bryan Duplicate thread removed, Rob Moderator

  Hi, I have a peugeot 306 2001, 1.6 meridian. The other day I put new battery in, took it for a spin but the positive terminal was loose so it brought up the ECU light as it juddered for a few moments. I reconnected pos terminal and car runs no problem I've tried disconnecting battery for 10 mins and reconnecting but the light stays on.

  I purchased my Peugeot back in April. Its done just over 100k but I believe I should be getting better fuel economy. I travel 90 miles a day to work and back and my top speed is only 70 mph with lots of straight roads at around 60 mph.
