Ford Mondeo III - Squealing noise 9 Jun 2010 (Forum)
When I break or hit a bump it briefly disappears, or if I make a tight\3 point turn it can disappear. Brakes and discs have been changed to no effect. Wheels are not getting hot after a 25 mile journey. I have asked the garage to check the wheel bearings and that the brakes are not binding and thay say they are not. -

Punto Mk 1 1997 1.2 8v Steering 6 Jul 2007 (Forum)
Had car from new; no bumps; 179,000 miles still on original clutch (despite teaching 2 daughters to drive); no play in steering wheel or track rod ends; tyres ok; brakes checked all wheels spin freely no binding and brakes evenly; steering is ok if I coast in neutral. Audi A6 Alternator causing probs? 20 Dec 2005 (Forum)
I have to use the throttle to get it to fire and then it just dies. It's an auto so I have to keep revs on with right foot whist using left foot on brake to select a gear and it seems a little unsure about selecting the gear. When I release the brake pedal all is fine, although it does feel a bit hesitant when I pull away from a junction - just a split second delay between throttle and motion. -

Rubberneckers 8 Nov 2005 (Forum)
It had obviously just happened as there were no police and not even a tailback on that carriageway. Now I appreciate that Discovery driver was braking to avoid the car in front and the concertina effect due to reaction times had taken place, also that it is human nature to look at such incidents. However it seems to me that initially someone must have braked to get a better look at the van on fire. -
cv joint/boot - mk2 Golf. 30 Dec 2003 (Forum)
Mk2 golf 1.3 1990 During the past month i\'ve noticed a occasional slight grinding sound from my passenger side front wheel when I brake. This has got more frequent and now occurs each time I brake. I jacked the car up to inspect the pads they were fine. But I discovered that the the cv boot must have a split in it because the grease is leaking out all the way around the rubber boot. -
Why is it... 2 Oct 2003 (Forum)
The tyres they used were of the crossply flavour and had the cornering ability of a penguin on wizz. We now have things like ABS / AWD / AWS / ESP / crumple zones / air bags / vented disc brakes / servo assisted brakes / asymmetric super grippy radial tyres / 3 point seat belts and an mot test that is about 100 times more exacting than it was 30 years ago, even the cyclists now wear helmets in case we hit them. -

Audi A4 - Identical Fault code 65535 on ABS & Airbag Audi A4 9 Jun 2015 (Forum)
On longer car journeys with repeated braking the rear brake light bulb would actually blow and need replacing. I changed the mobile phone charger several times but I still got the same issue as mentioned above. In the end I just stopped charging my mobile phone via the cigarette lighter socket. -
