• Volvo V50 - Garage Cannot fix Car 1 Sep 2015 (Forum)
  Just trying to see where I stand Put a Volvo V50 in to be remapped and now they cannot get the car to go. The garage have told me that it had been in a  front end crash and the ECU was hanging loose behind the wing, i was unaware of this at the time.

  My Volvo XC90 has a nasty habit of using up expensive 18inch Continental Contacts,the first set lasted 15k and the second are now getting close at 30k with one n/s rear distinctly dodgy and wearing all on the outside.Last set fitted by Volvo dealer, now closed and nearest 20miles.

  It's also has "STC" which I assume stands for stability and traction control. Was this standard in 2001 or was it an option and is STC in Volvo speak a full stability system (i.e. ESP) or just traction control. If so, what's the difference with "D-STC"? Thanks,

  A friend has been offered the car by a trader I know who punts on ex-company cars at a reasonable price (I bought a 318i Touring from him, and he seems a genuine bloke) Reg March 2000 (W plate) SE Estate, 2litre turbo Metallic black Black leather good spec 117,000 miles, full Volvo sh Price £6250 Mate wants a another BMW Touring to repalce his F reg 325i, and is a bit iffy about the Volvo. It seems to me like a lot of car for the money. Does anyone have any opinions on the car/value?

  Email from Drive the Deal in my inbox.yesterday Usual VAG, MB, JLR .............. at the very end was a Volvo S60 T5 R design plus Saloon £23.5K for white another £500 for metallic 250BHP, auto Petrol, lots of toys. This is a lot of car for the money. Anybody got "real experience" of the S60 a Good Buy or a Good Bye?

• Volvo V50 reg 08 - Anti-skid service warning 24 Aug 2012 (Forum)
  The local Volvo dealer wants £200 to identify a problem relating to the anti-skid warning, my local registered techniical expert has done this for £30 and said it was a small pump in the ABS system.  The local expert seemed to have the necessary equipment thoough the dealer said that their equipment was exclusive to them.
• Volvo C30 - Sticking handbrake 7 Feb 2012 (Forum)
  Recent mornings of cold weather has resulted in the handbrake of my two year old Volvo C30 sticking. No not the brake pads freezing onto the discs but the handbrake will not release. Later in the day when it has warmed up things are back to normal. Currently awaiting a call back from my dealer.

  Hello everyone, I am looking to find tractor units of : DAF, MAN, VOLVO. But I need salvage ones that I am going to be exporting. So where would I find right-off or crashed tractor units? A lot of breakers seem to find them, but I dont know where to get them.   Thanks!

  I'm wanting to fix a leak in the heater matrix of my Volvo 740. I've read about K seal - which actually claims to effect a lifetime fix. There are lots of glowing testimonials on the maker's site but am wondering if anyone in here has tried it and with what results...

  I have seen a recent deal on a famous car lease web site (based in the north east with famous chinese origin owner), has anyone had any dealings with this company? Volvo S80 2.0d SE for £258 a month on a 3 year lease, seems a good way of getting a nice new car without depreciation or am I being blinkered?

  Hey guys, bought an old volvo for 350 quid fsh and only 53000 miles. Car runs perfect but horn would not work, i replaced the unit and it worked for a while, but then stopped. I have checked the fuses and there is current at the horn terminals as i have tested it with a multimeter.

  I have a Bosch 0280 212 016 Air Mass Meter on a Volvo 240. Does anyone know how to test this particular unit pin 1 and 2 are common. 2 to 3 measeures 3.2 ohms pins 1 to 4 measures 23.12K and 1 to 5 measures 21.22K Pin 6 O/C. Any help welcome. Thanks Peter

  Hi I an thinking about buying a volvo m reg 100,000 miles 2.5 v6 20 valve se auto I like the car and it has history, anyone either reccomend these or have any comment. Are they expensive to run? The price is £4000. Should i go for mistubishi gallant estate 2.0 which I have seen for about the sam price with 70,000 miles on an r plate.

  Luckily I have warranty up to 60,000 miles but HAVE to get rid of it before then as cannot afford the repairs! I will NEVER buy another Volvo. Considered more of a Discussion thread than a Technical Matters thread to me, hence moved to Discussion. DD
