I have seen a recent deal on a famous car lease web site (based in the north east with famous chinese origin owner), has anyone had any dealings with this company? Volvo S80 2.0d SE for £258 a month on a 3 year lease, seems a good way of getting a nice new car without depreciation or am I being blinkered?

I assume this is Ling's Cars? Someone will have an opinion. Would not call it famous but she was on Dragon's Den.

... but no noshame here.

It might seem a goods deal, but dsgauto on this site have some better deals on better cars.

Imagine a Merc E280CDi auto fully loaded for about £350pcm?!!!!

Agreed, I'd much rather have an E280 than a 2.0D S80. Now if it was a D5, that would be a different matter...

The S80 is a fine car, but I don't think it has sold at all well in the UK. People generally want Volvo estates not saloons. I think you can get a brand new one for around UK£21K. Ling have probably got a good offer going to shift old stock!

2.0D might be a bit underpowered too? I drove a 2.0 petrol one last month and it was a bit sluggish...

I like the look of the S80 but the depreciations seems horrendous.

Looking on Autotrader, you can get a 2007 S80 2.4D SE GEARTRONIC with 9k miles for £12k (list price £26k)

So it's a great candidate for leasing.

I think Ling is OK. She doesn't do much, just brokers deals between suppliers and customers.

I think "fully loaded" is stretching it a bit. :)

You could probably near double the price of most Mercs by fully loading them.

Just noticed, Honda Legend 3.5i Vtec on the HJ homepage for £287.44 including VAT a month.

Seems like a better deal than the S80............

Yes, we have a company Audi on a 3 year lease. Lings Cars rate was significantly better (about £1,100 over 3 years) than half a dozen quotes we garnered, some by telephone and some by visiting dealers. The car was supplied by a main dealer, on time and the whole process from application through to delivery was pain free with no delays or problems and quite a few contacts by Lings Cars updating us. The lease is not with Lings Cars it is with Lombard. Only bad thing is the disgusting chinese sweets she sends you as part of the welcome routine!
