Espace 2.2 dCi Won't start 6 Apr 2006 (Forum)
They spent a dya on it - no fault codes found - but said at the end there was petrol in , instead of diesel - and charged for that diagnosis. My gargage towed the car back to their place, drained the system and found only diesel in it. Still it won't start. Can anybody offer assistance - apart from torching it. -
96 Rover 420SLDI Running problem 5 Nov 2005 (Forum)
Hello to all, this is the first time I have posted on this site so you will have to bear with me,I hope you can help me in my quest to sort out the problem with my Rover Diesel. My problem is this, when you are accelerating it suddenly dies,as if you have turned the ignition off,it can be in any gear,if I take my foot off the accelerator and put it back on the power comes back, when it does it if you press the pedal down further it just keeps dieing until you raise the pedal and depress it again then it runs fine again. It ticks over fine. -
Peugeot problems...:( 13 Sep 2003 (Forum)
I also started to hear a horrendous noise from the engine and severe power loss, no warning lights (the best way to describe it would be that when I reved the engine it sounded like a diesel truck rather than a car..diesel engine noise x5) then after ten miles it just stopped. I asked some mechanic friends and they said at a guess it was bad fuel clogging the injector and the engine was flooded and must have blown it out.Which made sense as on Tuesday the car was jumping all over the place after filling up with petrol the night before. -

Peugeot 2008 (2013 to 2019) - 2017 / 2018 Peugeot 2008 1.6 Diesel Engines? 22 Feb 2024 (Forum)
I am looking to buy a Peugeot 2008 1.6ltr Diesel and preferably the 120bhp version (with 6 speed gearbox). I am wondering - as I can't seem to find anything on the subject - are the 100bhp and 120bhp engines the same engine but just chipped for the power differences? -

Land Rover Discovery 4 - Restricted performance 25 Sep 2015 (Forum)
Hi, My wife and I bought a used LR D4 at the end on January - diesel, manual and about 83,000 miles. 3/4 weeks ago the Restricted Performance light came on. We have taken it to the local LR dealership and who thought it could be related to the fuel filter or moisture in the fuse box as a seal had broken, both where fixed. -

Peugeot 306 (1993 - 2001) - (96-97) 1.9TD -White Smoke on Starting 28 Jan 2008 (Forum)
There are no obvious mis-fires in the engine, and it generally seems to drive as normal... My best guess is that it's either: A) An injector has gone down B) Fuel timing is out Ive read around, and most people suggest that white smoke is unburnt diesel. Fuel filter looks brand new. I did an oil & oil filter change over the weekend. and put a new Air Filter in too. -
not another out of company car Q :o) 6 Dec 2007 (Forum)
really would like a barge type of car but good torque when i need it. not going to make much out of fuel at 17p per mile, with diesel going toward 105p a litre! and heated leather seats / cruise would be a bonus. I just am not going to be looking at laguna, as I have had a few, and they were always breaking down. or do I go medium and could get seat leon 150tdi cupra for around £7K but will it be comfy on 40K miles of driving a year? -
Replacement car 18 Apr 2022 (Forum)
I do not want an estate car or a diesel engine. I have been looking at another Ford Focus from the year 2015 but the Eco boost engines have had such a bed press and so has the powershift (I would prefer an auto over a manual). Vauxhall Astra seem to rate so badly in reviews. -
Latest miracle bolt-on for engines 24 Apr 2018 (Forum)
Today's Times reports a package invented and developed by a retired submariner, which is claimed to clean up petrol and diesel emissions - while improving consumption figures - by adding hydrogen to the air/fuel mixture. The hydrogen ( ortho -hydrogen, just to make it special) is generated by electrolysing caustic potash solution in a 'black box'. -
Toyota Yaris - Horn not sounding 16 Oct 2015 (Forum)
Hi Posters, Toyota Yaris diesel 2010. The car had the MOT last month and passed at the dealer. Then two weeks later the car was booked in to have some work carried out for TSBs, I believe these relates to the DPF oil fire and air bag recall.
