  Hi - can anyone help please - I've had my car in the local garage twice for this and they can't find the cause of my high pitched intermittent rotational sound...(Peugeot 3008, 1.2 petrol, manual, 17 plate) My first guess was brakes - but they have 50% left... The annoying thing is when I start driving my car from cold - the noise isn't there - takes around 10 mins of driving to become apparent - so when garage took it for drive - they couldn't replicate the noise... but I've had the noise for a few weeks now...

  Hi guys I have a Peugeot 308 that showing up the engine management light most of the time , when this warning comes up it will also show me on the screen that anti pollution Faulty, after this warning comes up it will take like a heck up and straight away the car dies and lose all power and stop, so i have to parck it safely and try to start it again, it's dangerous and almost caused me to crash, the diagnostic showed the EGR valves are faulty at the garage , the recovery services diagnostic didn't show it at all and the car cuts off and behaves like there is no fuel in the car at all even it's half full, I did try to tap on the catalytic converter just incase it's clocked and it may solve the issue, I am not experience with this kind of faults , some mechanics said replacing EGR valves will solve the problem some said tap on the catalytic converter, but all agreed that they never heard of the car cut off completely and die when these warnings show of on the screen , basically no one gave me a final answer and they only guessing , if there is anyone who seen and fixed such a thing like my case please tell me where is the problem and what it need to be fixed.

  Hello, I am new to this forum and looking for some help to fix my pug. Any help is welcome and I want to share my information as well. I?ve got Peugeot 407 2.0 HDI with the depollution system faulty. Since that fuel consumption a bit increased and reveres sometimes dropping. After scanning with OBD2 scanner the following faults codes been found P1435 ?

• Peugeot 406 HDI (year 2000) - EGR Code P0401 - MAF Sensor problem 22 Feb 2011 (Forum)
  Does this necessarily point to faulty MAF sensor though (£90 - ouch)? - you see my mate who works in Peugeot parts says they very rarely sell these.  So before I buy this any ideas??? - i mean the fault is P0401 EGR... LAST NOTE:- just prior to all this, battery totally died, so replaced it - P0401 came on very shortly after this - although I can't see a connection unless when new battery was connected it put a spike through the ECU causing reoccuring spurious code - again any ideas welcome....?

  Went out this morning to check oil and there is plenty in, Automatic transmission fluid is same, water is OK so I took it for a short drive and nothing, no lights on? Any ideas? I have tried looking on google for "warning lights on peugeot 205" but nothing really and my owners hand book is no help. Take care. Chris.
• Peugeot 306 (1993 - 2001) - 99 2.0 Worn diesel injectors?? 30 Apr 2009 (Forum)
  After 3 days and they told me that possibly the diesel injectors were on there way out or the fuel pump. They had attached it to a Peugeot diagnostics kit (borrowed as not a main dealer) and that showed high fluctuations in revs over 2000rpm. To fix would cost the best part of £1000 and wouldn't be worth it, however I don't have any of the other symptoms of diesel injector failure ie black smoke, problems starting.

  I have a 15 year old Peugeot 405TD estate, my 2nd one, with 160,000 on the clock, and I love it! I've done so much to it that I want to hang on to it if I can. I think the head gasket is going as it loses coolant with no obvious leaks and also pressurises the cooling system - fluid sometimes pours out under pressure AFTER the engine has cooled when I remove the radiator cap.

  Hi all Ive recently purchased a 306 2.0 hdi W(2000) which is giving me approx. the same fuel consumption as my old 2.0 xsi , Im driving the car in the same way (economically) on the same route and im still getting about 130 miles from 20 litres. the mpg has remained the same during the past few months and has not deteriorated. i took the car to a peugeot garage and they ran their diagnostics and found the following: "Investigate excessive fuel consumption. Checked to find no fuel leaks, checked ecu memory to find multiple faults in system which may contribute to excessive fuel use. parts and prices listed below air flow meter. £106.25 low pressure fuel pump. £220.83 accelerator pedal sensor. £93.94" I dont like the fact they used the word MAY above, and various sources have told me that these diagnostic checks are not always 100% accurate, so im a bit wary on forking out so much money if im not certain its going to fix the problem. 1.

  - When starting my Peugeot 306 1.9TD Spinnaker, there is a slight 'cough' of white smoke from the exhaust! Immediately after this, the engine 'splutters' for a few seconds and the revs seem to fluctuate erratically around 1,000 - 1,200rpm (and on the odd occasion,the engine will stall).

  A few weeks back, I bought a 1989 Peugeot 205 diesel off a neighbour as a bit of fun more than anything. We have enough cars as it is but these 205's bring back a a few happy memories since we had one new in 1986 and the chance to pick up an immaculate low mileage model was too tempting.

The one I've just read about though that surprised me was that Peugeot and Fiat are sharing a platform for two new cars, as are Peugeot and Toyota for 2005.   I was given a peugeot 405 diesel (1905cc non turbo) . I managed to get it through its MOT ok - but it has a problem with the gearbox. It jumps out of 5th gear at speeds over 60 when you lift your foot completely off the accelerator. 5th engages fine - and it doesn't jump out of 5th at low speeds - or if you are above 60 and ease off the accelerator slightly.

• peugeot 405 5th Gear Problems 11 Oct 2003 (Forum)
  I was given a peugeot 405 diesel, which needed a couple of things doing for the MOT. This has been done and it now passed - but there is something wrong with the position of the gearlever. The lever itself is far too forward - and with 2nd, 4th or reverse selected - the lever is at the normal position for neutral.

  At this very moment there are 4 (four) sequential queries from different owners featuring the utra reliable Honda Civic. Has anybody ever seen a greater number for a single model? I think I recall 4 for a Peugeot 306 - no surprises there then!
