Hi all,
My MOT is fast approaching and I finally accepted that I need to try and fix my driver side door which can't be unlocked or opened.
I experienced the same symtoms not that long ago but the issue seemed to fix itself however I don't seem so lucky this time.
I am unable to unlock the driverside door. Key in lock acts as normal but there is resistance before full rotation. I have also tried to simply lift button on inside however this wont lift all the way. There is some give but not enough to unlock.
I have managed to remove the inside trim on door and have applied plenty of WD40 to the opening/lock mechanism but to no avail. I also found what appears to be a small broken piece which I expect is the reason I can't unlock the door. See imgur.com/aqvW4bJ.
I have also tried to remove the outside handle however haven't managed to remove this completely.
I am slightly at a loss as to how to proceed. Visibility is near impossible as space is tight inside the car when the door is closed. Others with similar problems have simply applied plenty of WD40 and this seems to have solved the problem however having found the "broken componant" I expect my issue won't be so simply solved.
Any ideas? If you need further information, let me know.
Cheers,
