HRDC To Recreate 1963 Touring Car Racing 20 May 2011 (News)
Add a sprinkling of Sunbeam Rapiers, Volvo Amazons, a brace of Zodiac Mk3s, a Fiat Abarth, Riley 1.5 and a Mercedes-Benz 220SE and you can see the colourful palate that made up this evocative grid - with not a single Lotus-powered homologation special in view!" Therefore, the HRDC will be running a dedicated series for FIA-compliant historic touring cars which ran in 1963 - with the exclusion of 'homologation specials'. This series will run alongside the established HRDC 'Touring Greats' (for pre-1960 touring cars) and 'Grand Touring Greats' (for sub-1500cc, pre-1966 GTs). -

Hyundai seeks to consolidate in 2013 8 Jan 2013 (News)
That’s a growth target of 1.4%, nowhere near the 2011-2012 growth of 18.1%. This is partly down to demand – Hyundai’s factories are running at 100% capacity to keep up with growing markets like China, and so huge expansion isn’t on the cards. Instead Hyundai plans to make every customer experience the best it can be, whether they are buying a car, popping in for a service or even browsing the forecourt. Additionally, Hyundai is developing a World Rally Championship entry – the i20 hatchback forms the basis of a new rally car, which is set to compete in 2014 after some test runs during the 2013 season. -

Goodwood Festival of Speed: Renault's classics in action 6 Jul 2013 (News)
The RE40’s cause was further aided by Renault’s now long-running 1.5-litre turbo engine, which was by now running twin blowers to achieve a spectacular 880bhp. The turbos were still an occasional source of trouble, unreliability preventing Alain Prost from securing the championship that year in the season’s final race. -
Endurance Racing at Castle Combe 23rd/24th July 14 Jul 2011 (News)
With the last three wins in his pocket, the man to beat in the Castle Combe Formula Ford 1600 championship is Rob Hall in the Swift SC10, built and run next door to the circuit by the Swift Cooper team. His nearest opponent is likely to be Steven Jensen from Saltford in the Spectrum 011 run by the Gloucester based Kevin Mills Racing team, although the returning Felix Fisher from Bridgwater could be a problem, especially as outright pace is more important to him than points, given his only occasional appearances in the championship this year. -

Six new Jaguar E-type Lightweights have been built by the factory, completing the original 1963-64 run of cars. The cars are described by Jaguar as the missing six vehicles from the company's Lightweight E-type project, which originally started in February 1963 - with the objective of building 18 ‘Special GT E-type Cars’.
