Audi secrecy. 28 Mar 2006 (Forum)
I was behind a car transporter carrying Audi's today and on the top was a car that had its's features hidden. What amazed me was the way it was hidden, it was neatly covered in a white material which was tailored to fit, it had zips following the shape of the drivers door to gain access and was even tailored around the two exhaust pipes and mirrows enabling it to be driven a short distance. -
Insuring a banger 2 Feb 2005 (Forum)
It's renewal time on my insurance, and I've got a few quotes for my reliable old Cavalier SRi, but they almost outweigh the value of the car. I don't need to worry about people nicking or damaging my car as it's worth peanuts now, but obviously need cover. However, I do wish to retain my no claims for future purchases. Is it therefore possible to get third-party cover which protects my no claims? -
Insured to the nearest minute? 8 Dec 2004 (Forum)
I am in the process of changing my car and was surprised when I contacted my insurer today to arrange a cover note. The insurer wanted to know not only what day I was changing the car, but also the exact time - I was warned that this was important and if I was incorrect I would not be covered (horrible image of being delayed en route to collect new car and finding myself driving without insurance, or being unable to drive old car to dealer to collect replacement). -

Nissan X-Trail - Nissan X-Trail 2017/Timing belt cover leak 10 Apr 2023 (Forum)
I have been quoted ~1000 gbp for works to replace the cover and reseal. Does timing chain cover break so often? I drive my vehicle in/around the city. No off-road or country lanes. It has done 28k miles till date so 18k since i bought it. Sounds to me this has been faulty since day 1 and wasn't repaired properly but vehicle is out of warranty now. -

Mitsubishi Colt 3-door - Extended Warranties 20 Oct 2010 (Forum)
I have never got into these before but our 3 year old Colt is about to pass out of warranty. We have been offered 1,2 or 3 years of extended breakdopwn cover for £275, £409 or £589. The car is well looked after. Regadless whether the same deal is cheaper elsewhere, is this type of cover worthwhile or is it the same sort of poor deal you get with white goods and the like? -

Audi A4 Cabriolet (Auto) - Warranty Nightmare!!! 19 Feb 2012 (Forum)
Once I sent the confirmation this morning I had to chase 3 times during the day and finally 10mins before the repairs team closed, I got a phone call saying they have rejected my claim based on the grounds that since taking out the policy I covered only 380miles and therefore the failure must of been progressing before taking out the warranty cover. At no point this failure was transparent before the cold weather and since owning the car, there was no other times the car had shuddered. -
Retail Parks with black tyre marks 22 Jul 2019 (Forum)
There is another post on here about a car with three brake replacements..... I have been to a couple of retail parks in my area. I was shocked to see the state of their car parks covered as they were covered with black tyre marks. It looked unsightly. -

Honda Jazz - Is it wear & tear or the garage had done a bad job 9 Jul 2021 (Forum)
Hi. My car is Honda Jazz Automatic 2010 year model. Back in July 2019, the car passed the MOT at Honda garage with advisory saying: Repair as soon as possible (minor defects): Nearside Front Upper Anti-roll bar linkage ball joint dust cover severely deteriorated (5.3.4 (b) (i)) I immediately sent it to another independent garage (the cost is cheaper than Honda garage) to fix it and paid the total cost of £108 Today the car just passed MOT with the same advisory as below: Repair as soon as possible (minor defects): Offside Front Anti-roll bar linkage ball joint dust cover severely deteriorated Split (5.3.4 (b) (i)) I was shocked to see this. -
What is a "motoring emergency"? 29 Mar 2007 (Forum)
Does this policy provide cover for me to drive my grandma around in her own car? I'm actually insured on the policy as a named driver, but it may be cheaper to remove me if I'm only going to drive the car with my grandma in it. -
Extended Car Warranties 26 Dec 2005 (Forum)
Question: Are Car Warranties Worth the money??? The reason I ask is that since claiming for a gearbox with an oil leak to be fixed.(I was told that this was not covered) The motorplan policy is a Premier, one down from the top all singing and dancing platinum cover.
