okay im considering renting a specific car on a trip to usa
i can only find it on a US site rather than a UK all inclusive deal
can anyone advise what add ons or insurance i need ? as i hear alot of it is silly add ons
the site is www.midwaycarrental.com and the add ons it brings up are- personal accident cover, cdw level 2,rlp insurance, rlp and sli package??
id like similar cover to the all in you get when using a uk company...i.e fully comp with sensible excess in the event of theft or damage

Not trying to dissuade you at all, but most of the run of the mill hire companies only hire out low spec Mustangs. A convertible is still a lot of fun though, and the US is the place to hire one.
When I book, I book through www.airline-network.co.uk. They do a good deal (usually Dollar) and include the insurances you need. From memory SLI and CDW are the key ones - whether they are silly depends on whether you are planning an accident or not. The do a Chrysler Sebring (in Florida at least) and I'm told that the luggage area is more spacious than the Mustang. The Sebring has a 2.8 engine but feels more like a 1400.

yeah ive used airline network before....no complaints and i like the idea of all inclusive, however i dont want a sebring and they wont specify a certain car
looks like it work out expensive renting the car and then adding insurances on...so i'll probably just get a med size form airlinenetwork and be happy that its hassle free

You might find it possible to then upgrade when you arrive to the specific car if they have the Mustang. And if not stick with the standard one.
When I was hiring on Maui a few years back, and I went for a bog standard sized car. Didn't want to get a convertible. They didn't have my class of car and tried to get me to upgrade to the convertible. I ended up with a monster sized saloon (bigger than say a Scorpio) and didn't need more than 2 seats.
