Complaint to council (road state)? 4 Jul 2007 (Forum)
Even if I did not manage to get anything out of them directly, getting the road resurfaced would be a result! -- RichardW Is it illogical? It must be Citroen.... -
oil from injector holes - xsara 2.0. hdi 7 Jun 2007 (Forum)
I have posted several queries about this car (citroen xsara 2.0. hdi 2001 {added to subject header - DD} ) and followed advice given I think I am close to solving it. cleaned engine bay, jet wahed engine, secured oil filler cap all as previously advised now can see where oil is coming from took injectors out this weekend and they are coated with engine oil they have copper washers at the seat end, and rubber/plastic collars at the top end do these act as seals that could be worn? -
xsara hdi unrefined 15 Feb 2007 (Forum)
, but i feel as though you have to work very hard with the vehicle to keep it going along with smooth progression!, i mentioned this to my citroen dealer and he agreed with me saying that they are a little that way inclined and that the 110 motor was the better option!. Also the motor seems to lack the flexibility of the old 1.9td, i.e you have to change down a lot more to keep it moving at any great pace, anybody got any views?. -
New towcar - Hyundai or Kia 31 Oct 2006 (Forum)
I know the Kia Sorento was last year's towcar of the year and is still a class winner but I'm attracted to the Santa Fe, it's £1k cheaper and the 5 year warranty is good news. I'm not put off by the foot activated parking brake either as I've had Citroen XMs in the past. HJ's car-by-car breakdown is helpful but the Caravan Club Tow Car of the Year mentions the Santa Fe parking brake not holding on a 17% hill and some "instability" towing. Then there's the question of old Sorento versus new Sorento. -
1995 FIAT Punto driveshafts 17 Jul 2006 (Forum)
Can anyone tell me who makes a socket suitable for the Punto Turbo Diesel driveshafts, apart from FIAT 36mm across flats, as the setup is very similar to the Pug/Citroen one, but the internal diameter of the boss which locates the disc (and hence the outside diameter of the socket to be used) is only 48mm. The socket needs to be a long one, to fit over the end of the driveshaft, so a standard socket would fit, I think My usual Pug driveshaft socket is about 52mm outside dia. -
MGF VVC - fan keeps running 21 Apr 2006 (Forum)
His suggested solution is to ask an MG dealer to change the VVC unit at a cost of around £600/650. We've used this garage for a while with various cars (eg Citroen ZX & Toyota Avensis) and we trust them - however I am concerned that their electrician doesn't know what he is talking about. Any thoughts or suggestions about what else might be causing the problem? -
Test drives 21 Mar 2006 (Forum)
I am looking at buying a 7 seater, preferaly with luggage space, with reasonable towing capacity (trailer with cars upto Mondeo size). It would be diesel, - something like the following: Galaxy/Alhambra /Sharran Pug 807/Citroen C7 Maybe KIA /Hyandai for some sort, merc vito / vw transporter may also be an option. May consider a 4x4, but potential bigger bills and more cumbersome nature a turn off. Will probably end up buying 2nd hand, don't really want to go through losing a lot on depreciation etc. -
Used Honda Jazz prices 7 Aug 2005 (Forum)
I have always thought the prices of used models of the Honda Jazz to be very high, yet when I look at the prices in Parker's guide, they are much lower. I got around to doing this today, because I found a 2004/04 SE CVT priced at £7995 at a local Citroen dealer. This is more like the kind of price I would be prepared to pay but, unfortunately, it had been sold. I have seen a 2002/52 SE CVT listed on Autotrader, at a Honda dealership, for £8495, when Parkers value it at £6995. -
New C5 16 Dec 2004 (Forum)
Now I'll make no secret of the fact I'm not Citroen's biggest fan. Unfair I suppose given the only one I've ever driven was an old Saxo but the looks don't appeal to me. Trust me - this is going somewhere. I saw a new C5 today. Odd because I never even knew they were out yet but they must be because one was parked up in Sainsbury's driven by, sorry for not being PC but a rather "trampy" old chap. -
Pug 406 109tdi 98 strange noise 5 Dec 2004 (Forum)
Looked uder ventilation (section 3, I think) but there was no reference at all to the flap valve, so I looked in Citroens of a similar year but not one refered to the flap valve -- that I could find. So I thought I'd come back to the source of real experience. Regards -
Yes you can e-mail the DVLA 21 Nov 2004 (Forum)
When I got my registration document back from the DVLA after transferring a personal plate onto it, I noticed the seating capacity of my Citroen C8 was given as 8. I think you can get a Peugeot 607 optionally rigged for 8 seats, but not the C8. So, last week I e-mailed csm.dvla@gtnet.gov.uk, quoted my reg. number and address pointed out the error and thought no more of it. -
which car - Six seats and flexible??? 10 Nov 2004 (Forum)
Most of the time, however, the new car will just be used for school runs - so I don't want to buy something too huge and difficult to park. Things I've looked at so far include Citroen C8, Renault Grand Scenic and Landrover Discovery. Any bright ideas or views would be much appreciated. Best regards Nicky B -
*URGENT* Warranty - should I upgrade? 8 Oct 2004 (Forum)
Sorry for the *URGENT* but need to make a decision on this in the next hour! Just got my 102k miles "51" Citroen C5 (see other thread) and it came with a 6-month "Silver" plan warranty from Motorcare Warranties. What I need to decide is whether it's worth upgrading the warranty to one of the higher plans - "Gold" or the top package "Gilted Edge". -
Toyota Corolla Verso/Seat Altea/Scenic 26 Jul 2004 (Forum)
Hi folks first post here. Currently have a Citroen Picasso HDi Exclusive, but want to change as it is coming to the end of the PCP arrangement. Been looking at the Toyota Corolla Verso, Seat Altea and Renault (Grand) Scenic and coming down mainly in the direction of the Toyota. -

Who likes the speedo in the middle? 1 Sep 2003 (Forum)
I was in my local Citroen dealer recently and took the opportunity to sit in the new C8. Our Synergie has given us excellent service, I like the folks at the dealership and a discounted C8 would be a logical replacement for the Synergie. -

good help wanted about a BX. (maybe DW can help) 16 Feb 2002 (Forum)
my mother is selling her citroen bx, and i was wondering how much she should charge, its a 1987 E, 16TRS, metallic silver, 111,000 miles, some history, automatic, long tax and test, and has had in the past 6 months - rear spheres, new battery, alternator, HT leads, plugs, full service, ignition coil, starter motor, ignition lock, and in the past year has had tons more done (including the timing belt), the interior is in mint condition, very slight rust on one of the rear doors, but no other rust, she was thinking about £325, but put it up for £450. -
Spares for foreign cars 26 Jan 2002 (Forum)
MBRM I apologise if this steps over the line about advertising, but I've just received an e-mail from Andyspares whom I've used several times for Citroen spares - and it might be of interrest to other back roomers. It suggests they will be adding other foreign vehciles to their list, as quoted : "Several people have emailed us about German & Swedish parts.
