• Renault Clio II - Do I have the right to get some money back? 5 Mar 2011 (Forum)
    I have been told that someone has removed the instrument cluster and messed around behind it to hide the fact that the ABS doesn't work.  Renault have ordered me a new cluster and are going to fit it this week but that may not solve the original ABS problem but will show what the problem is.  I brought my car from a private garage and the cost of the works to be done is £52 less than the price I paid for the car - do I have any right to go to the garage and ask for some money?
• 2005 Renault Grand Scenic 1.9 DCI - Loose Oil Filler Cap 24 Aug 2010 (Forum)
    This obviously shouldn't have happened but the oil filler cap and oil dipstick are collocated on these engines and seem to be a two part design with the top part being able to be unclipped.  I've complained to Renault to no avail.  Has anyone else had experience of these filler caps coming loose?  Trying to gauge whether there is a common problem here.

  Here's one for my other car. Renault Laguna 1.6RT 1998 facelift model. Turn the steering full lock to the left, slight noise like broken spring, centre wheel and the car keeps pulling violently to the left.   Renault Kangoo Diesel 1.9 van always starts first time in the mornings, but will not rev-up, just runs on a rough tick-over. Switch off and restart and it runs fine. I have to do this every morning. Using the vehicle is not a problem during the day; it will stop and restart all day long, which suggest something to do with cold start.

  I've currently got a W registration Renault Laguna. Will cost an arm and a leg to get it through it's next MOT which is due on 4th Feb, 2010. The road tax runs out on 31st January 2010. My car was 1st registered on 17th March 2010. So by the time 17th March 2010 comes around, my car will not be eligible for the £2000 scrappage allowance.

  Obviously not right. I suspected the oil pressure switch but not sure where it is,haynes manual is useless. My renault dialogys cd no longer works after I upgraded my computer so that's no help. Is the oil pressure sender the one on front of engine,to the right of oil filter, with a single wire going to it? If so I tried grounding the wire and light still goes out on it's own (without engine being started!).

  Hi, I live in Norwich and have just bought a renault scenic rx4 DCi from Scotland. I was 100 miles towards home (only had the car about 2 hours) and the turbo blew up. Called the AA and got towed 300 miles home. Since putting it in my local garage have now had new turbo, new clutch, new ??

  Hello My car is a 52 reg Renault Scenic 1.9 dci, 112k and does not have a turbo. I was driving yesterday and suddenly when diesel engine revved up to it max, I took me foot of the accelerator and still the engine revved, to turned the ignition off, but still the engine revved.

  My son bought a Renault CLio and soon found that he had problems starting it from time to time. On occasions when it did start the accelerator had a mind of its own and raced without anyone touching the pedal. This also happened on one occasion when he drove it - the accelerator raced and then the car started to lose power until it finally stopped.

  Help! We have a Renault Cio that has developed a stalling problem when hot. It seems totally random although it does tend to stall immediately after refuelling. (Starts Ok but when you get to end of the forecourt and slow down it stalls -not every time though!).

  It fixed itself for a few minutes but the problem has returned. Any ideas if this is a known problem before doing battle with the Renault dealer? All other electrical functions seem to work okay. Any ideas or tips we should know about?

  Hi I have just bought a renault megane 1.6RT 1998. When I went out today only having the car 3 days .It would not go in any gear only 5th. I do not know what is wrong I thought maybe a new gearbox or clutch either way big money.

  I have disconnected the wiper arm but still the wipers only work via the heater switch, checked all electrical connections and fuses and there is no corrosion on any connections or bulbs, they are in good nick and are clean. Has anyone else experienced this before because I know any garage especially renault is gonna sting me for these electrical probs, or any advice...please no mother-in-law jokes!

  then today the service light came on saying "Check Injectors". Ive had the car just over 12 months from locail renault dealer and been going like a dream, the car has only done 28k. Please anyone got any idea how I can solve this with out going to the dealer as thay charge £££s just for turning up!

  I've got a Renault Scenic 1.4 Authentic that has a warm starting problem. It starts fine when cold, it also starts fine when warm if started immediately. But if the engine has been warm & then is left for any more than about 20 minutes and you try to start it, it fires but then almost immediatley cuts out.

  I've got a 2004 Renault Scenic 1.4 Authentic that has a warm starting problem. It starts fine when cold, and also restarts fine when warm if restarted immediatley, but if the car has been left for anything more than about 15 minutes and you try to start it, it fires OK but then almost immediatley dies.

  After driving for 20 mins or so, the "check Injection" display warning appears on the dashboard. I took it to the renault main agents, and they said it could have been one of 6 sensors, the car is currently having these sensors cleaned by my local mechanic. I don't have the list of sensors. I was just wondering if anyone knew of common faults or anyone had personally experienced these problems?

  HI all I have a renault scenic 1.6 2003 reg and it sometimes wont start when its warm or when i go on a short run, the immobiliser flashes and works ok ???? but the car will start if i bump start it its so frustrating when i go out because sometimes it starts and sometimes it dont .the engine turns ok but its not firing up .i havent had a diagnostic check yet but someone has said it could be the crank sensor can you help and maybe point me in the right direction of getting it fixed {subject header made less vague, and moved across to the Technical Matters forum}

  Does anyone know whether as part of the Renault Megane II's facelift in 2006 any electrical components were changed? i.e. can you now expect more reliability out of the model? I only ask as the new Clio seems to be quite reliable - I know of three people with one and none have had a problem, yet Megane's are renowned for trouble.

  I have a renault clio 2003 03 plate dynamique with some crash damaged now repaired i fitted a new carbon cannister + evap valve but i think i may have a pipe missing, i have a pipe +wire loom plug on the valve on the top, but on the cannister i have only one pipe but looks like there should be 2 can any one help???
