Hi - My car suffered a catastrophy recently when the top of the oil filler cap detached when driving and fell down the side of the engine, wrecking the alternator belt which in turn wrecked the timing belt. So now I'm waiting to find out if it is just the head that needs replacement (£1200) or a new engine (£4000+). This obviously shouldn't have happened but the oil filler cap and oil dipstick are collocated on these engines and seem to be a two part design with the top part being able to be unclipped. I've complained to Renault to no avail. Has anyone else had experience of these filler caps coming loose? Trying to gauge whether there is a common problem here.
