  Hi, new to site tho used info here wisely in buying last BMW e91 320d. Need to replace wifes car now. Have seen a seat ibiza 53 plate fsh cambelt and water pump done at 63k, years tax and mot 1.9tdi (100 bhp) good tyres all round with 99k on clock for £2450.

  I need to replace my PIRELLI P6000 195/65 R15 91H (or V) tyres on my 2001 BMW 320D Touring with alloy wheels . Are there any better tyres available with combination of smoother running or better traction in wet / on ice or better cornering or longer life? The MICHELIN Energy Saver publicity sounds interesting and Leeboy mentioned UNIROYAL Rainsport and a local company suggested AVON ZV3 - which are best?

  By the side of the pitch between the 22 and 10 metre lines, behind some mesh barriers, was parked a gleaming late reg 5 series BMW M ... Last minute of the game , our fly half gets the ball from a line out and hoofs it into touch, a huge hanging kick... the ball flies through the air and lands , with a huge thud, on the car's front NS wing, leaving a ball-sized dent.

  With the pound -euro exchange rate at nearly 1-1, this price is ridiculously low compared with the price in Germany where the same car is listed at 70k euro. At 45k euro, this is equivalent to a BMW 3 series. Chance of a bit of luxury on the cheap? What are the chances of being able to source a LHD model from the UK? Are the dealers likely to be only able to supply RHD to support the continental dealers?

  Looks like they must have swung into mine when getting into or out of the next bay. Metal isn't bent but I guess I'm looking at £250 to put it through a BMW paint shop. No note, of course. Would it be worth anything to ask for access to the car park CCTV system?

  Along the Leicestershire/Rutland A47 the other day I saw a suicidal red VW Beetle driver, then today a suicidal black Bentley driver, a suicidal BMW X5 driver followed by a suicidal motorbiker. All of them drove down the middle of the road passing everything in sight whilst crossing over double whites lines, overtaking on blind left and right bends and hill brows, what is wrong with these people ?

  Living in a lovely part of Surrey, and spending every Sun am with my 6 year old at rugby training I am normally surrounded by far richer parents than myself, and consequently surrounded by 5 and 7 series BMW's, Range Rovers by the score, and numerous Porches and top range Mercs, but today they were surpassed, a Masserati, a Ferrari and a Bentley - now I know its their money and choice but that's over doing it surely - what is the most out of place car seen and where??.

  My parents are close to deciding to buy a VW Golf Estate 2.0 TDI 140 DSG. The only other alternative so far is a BMW 320i Touring. The following have been test driven and EXCLUDED: Passat (too large), Touran (too wide), Volvo V50 (just didn't feel right). Car must have automatic, park sensors, folding door mirrors, at least 2 litre engine.

  My requirements are as follows in no particular order - Reliability, economical, reasonable maintainance cost, comfort/smooth ride, low to average mileage. I do about 10k a year and have a bit of a short list for you to comment on Volvo S60 D5, BMW 320D, SAAB 93 1.9(150), JAG X TYPE 2.0dse, any comments would be very much appreciated.

• Quick estate & m.p.g 3 Oct 2007 (Forum)
  I've currently got a mazda bongo which i use for short trips to teach dog training and weekend trips on the motorway but the m.p.g is killing me 25 around town and 30 if im steady on the motorway do 70-80 and it drops well into the 20's. Im thinking of selling/trading it and getting a large estate such as: Bmw 528/530 Merc c240/250 e230/320 Volvo t5 Subaru legacy Mitsubishi vr4 the 2 jap options seem good value for money(imports) and i import garage will hopefully be more intrested in the bongo, but the main thing is the estates m.p.g?

  They seem to be all over the country - except the phone numbers are all Liverpool disguised partly by the spacing - e.g. 01512 XXXXXX Examples Lexus 350H 7,000mls 2006 @ £11K Maserati 2004 @ £11K BMW Z4 @ £11K If you want to see for yourselves leave all search criteria bland but teh Keyword Search 01512 - you will also get a few gebuine looing adverts as well but the "bargains stick out" from the rest

  One is a Mondeo TDCi towed in off the motorway and they already know that the head has cracked! One is a BMW 320D - don't know for sure what's wrong with it yet but it drove through a deep puddle, cut out, and now its dead! Third one is a Renault Espace and they think con rod(s) bent. All sounds very expensive - I think he's looking forward to a bumper set of accounts this year!

  Seeing that this engine is now available in the new new MINI made me think, this must be about the most widely available engine these days, knocking previous favourites (various VAG lumps and A-series) into a cocked hat. Let's see now: BMW MINI Citroen C4 Citroen C5 Ford Fiesta Ford Fusion Ford Focus Ford Mondeo Mazda 3 Peugeot 207 Peugeot 307 Peugeot 407 Volvo S40 Volvo V50 Can anyone think of any more?   He was wondering if he would be better off buying say a 1 year old average car (Ford, Vauxhall etc) and keeping it 5 years then repeating the exercise again or buying a "quality" car (BMW,Audi etc) and keeping it the full 10 years.

  I've just been reading the "W211 Mercedes Diesel Under £10k at Auction Today" article with great interest. Of all the auction prices though, the "BMW 320d SE 150 Touring, 02 reg, 42k miles £14,800s" leapt out at me! Did a 2002 320d SE Touring really make £14,800 or is this a misprint? Were any readers at Blackbushe today? £14,800 seems a ridiculously high price to pay for a 02 320d SE Touring - my curiosity has got the better of me and I would love to know if this car really made that price.

  I am planning to sell my BMW, 5-series, yr 2000, W reg, 89000 miles, petrol, manual, FSH as a private sale. I have looked at various valuation websites and the valuations cover a very wide range. Any idea which tends to be the most accurate?

  Help! We have a MINI on loan while my BMW is in for some work. Tomorrow Mrs P needs to use it with two child seats on board. So I only have tonight to work out the best way to fit them in. There is, of course, no instruction manual in the car!

  well, got the wifes clio sport in the paper. and given her my bmw cab 320. :-( got to pick up my new car.... yeehaa! cant wait, hold on i say to my new boss, what is it? its a 1.6 tdci 109ps focus estate.Lx. jeez! never mind, at least it will stop me changing cars every month!
