Peugeot 306 stolen keys 25 Sep 2004 (Forum)
My Son has just had the keys of his 1999 306 stolen, unfortunately with his wallet which had his address. He is worried that the car may be stolen from outside the house. Does anybody have an idea of cost of replacing locks, plipper and immobiliser transducer? The house insurance will not cover it. -

Jump starting 19 Mar 2002 (Forum)
I think this may have been covered before, but can anyone advise me of the dangers of using jump leads and ECUs. I recently used a Micra to jump start another car and it later refused to start, and now runs badly. What could be the likely trouble? -
B%^&#$d martins! 11 Jan 2002 (Forum)
Those flying birds who wish to build nests. A pair have decided to make my eaves their southern base, and the car gets covered with a saliva/dirt mix. I'd hate to progress to the fledgeling dump stage. Any idea how to dissuade the little critters? -
Anti-Gatso Ploy.. 21 Dec 2001 (Forum)
Followed a Focus home from work today - the back of the car was completely covered with black dirt, absolutely no sign of the number plate lettering. The driver would probably have been able to explain to the police, if stopped, that 'it was clean when I started out, officer', - except that the light clusters were beautifully clean... -
Double mirrors on panel vans 7 Nov 2001 (Forum)
Before I put a second mirror to cover the blind spot, I occassionally found problems with cars concealed there. Now I never get caught out when going to overtake another vehicle as it is obvious. I am not sure why more panel vans and artics do not do the same. -
Should I go for petrol or diesel with my next car? 23 Oct 2019 (Ask HJ)

Getting incorrect MOT advisories deleted 26 Jun 2018 (Forum)
and set about changing them, it transpired the pads were only one-third worn. So I've got an advisory on the MOT history that makes it look like the car isn't maintained correctly (I never let pads wear down past their last 20%) can I get this advisory removed? Is there a process to cover this? The standard MOT appeal process states it’s to report cars that passed and shouldn’t have or ones that failed and should have passed, neither case covers my issue - not terrible in the big scheme of things – I know, however, as most half sane people check the MOT history of vehicles they buy, I like to keep my MOT histories squeaky clean by keeping on top of maintenance. -

"Exceptional weather event" thread Vol 2. 9 Feb 2009 (Forum)
Well time for some Scottish input here..... Woke up this morning fully planning to take the train to work but when I saw the snow covered car I just couldn't resist! Cleared all the snow off with a large squeegee blade thing normally used for the house windows. Drove into Glasgow relatively OK, in fact nearer Glasgow traffic was better than normal due to there being less of it. -
