Peugeot 306 stolen keys - Frogeye
My Son has just had the keys of his 1999 306 stolen, unfortunately with his wallet which had his address. He is worried that the car may be stolen from outside the house. Does anybody have an idea of cost of replacing locks, plipper and immobiliser transducer? The house insurance will not cover it.

He shouldn't have to worry about the immobiliser - when the immobiliser system is programmed to recognise new keys, the old ones should be automatically deleted.

Try ebay. Lots of 306 plip keys sell for about £30-£35 each (you only get the electronic bit and need to get the metal parts and matching door/boot/steering column locks separately). Read the adverts carefully to make sure you get the right type for your car - there are at least four different types for the 306. I think full Peugeot price is around £70-£80 per key (again electronic bit only).

The other items occasionally come up on ebay, but aren't common. If you want to consider scrap yards, look at www.honestjohn.co.uk/forum/post/index.htm?f=2&t=25...5

Yep, get the stolen keys wiped from the ECU, then they won't start the car. However, they will still open the doors, which is a problem if the car is parked in the open.

Thank you for your replies. He has been to a main dealer, who quoted around £100 for remote key and programming. Meanwhile he has put a disklock on the steering wheel, while he sorts out what to do.
