  • singing and dancing phones 24 Apr 2004 (Forum)
What do I tell the dealer or is it only a few luxury cars that can cope with this stuff. Was thinking of a BMW but I don't know enough about their system.
  • £5000 to spend,what to buy? 14 Aug 2003 (Forum)
Any other larger, comfortable cars which aren't too slow anyone can suggest. Is this too little to spend on a BMW to get a decent one? Help me please!
  • The new Rolls Royce 12 Feb 2003 (Forum)
Myself i think they look more like a tank, a landrover seems to have better lines on it, and also more attractive. I think bmw are trying to put R/R down, so they can sell more 3,5,&7 series
  • E30 318IS 27 Jan 2003 (Forum)
Just bought an H-reg (E30) BMW 318IS (16valve engine). The only problem is a pronounced and vaguely irritating rasping sound from up front only between 3000 revs and 3700 revs - I thought was the exhaust so put it on the ramp and the exhaust is very solid.
  • FORUM VIEW 13 Jan 2003 (Forum)
I've just changed the way I view forums from the flat view to the threaded view every time I see 'new' against the BMW service thread, go and read all the messages and go back to the top level , it always says there is 1 new - does anybody else see this ? I have to grow old - but I don't have to grow up
  • Registration plates 28 Oct 2002 (Forum)
Driving up the M6 yesterday, a BMW 3 series passed me. It had a "Q" plate, but what puzzled me was that the rear plate itself, and the typeface, must have been ¼ the normal size. It was tiny hardly legible. Didn"t see the front plate.
  • Private or Dealer? 3 Sep 2002 (Forum)
I am wanting to buy a BMW Z3 2.8 - these are expensive cars, so is it worth the risk of buying privately and saving some money (and have a much wider range to choose from!) or should I play it safe and get one from a dealer?
  • Car names 19 Feb 2002 (Forum)
Why do European countries name their towns, islands, cities etc after old Fords Granada, Capri, Cortina, Sierra etc. Can you think of amy more? Or, what does BMW stand for - Brutal Money Waster? or Ford Found On Rubbish Dump? or MITSUBISHI Management Incessantly Tolerates Socially Unacceptable Behavior, Ignoring Sexual Harassment Incidents Alex

  • Citroen C4 Picasso - 1.6 THP engine 19 Feb 2019 (Forum)
I know there have been a lot of problems with the Citroen/Peugeot/BMW/Mini 1.6 THP petrol engine: chain tensioner, (turbo?) and carbon deposits. Is there a safe date after which they can be considered reliable? In particular, I'm looking at a 2013 C4 Picasso with 1.6 THP - worth buying or better to avoid?
  • MINI Cooper D - Disable Pedestrian Protection System 7 Jan 2019 (Forum)
The warning light has come on yet again and I don't want to keep paying £40 to have it reset. (£140 if I went to BMW Mini!) Does anyone know how the system can be disabled or removed so that warning light disappears for good?
  • Fradulent insurance claim? 24 Jun 2014 (Forum)

  • Audi - Old habits die hard 19 Feb 2009 (Forum)
Either the credit crunch isn't as bad as it's being portrayed or some Audi dealers remain too idle to survive it. On Sunday I made a serious enquiry for a new A6 Quattro (twice recently had to abandon the BMW in the snow) through one of the oldest established brokers, which advertises on this site. Never heard a dicky bird.
  • Skoda Roomster (2006 - ) - roomsters & mods 20 Oct 2008 (Forum)
I first saw a roomster in a french hyper market and thought what an odd looking car. However I understand that it has overcome bmw in a comparison test. I cant find that thread so I thought that if I started a new one now I could come back tomorrow am and read all about it. :)
  • What happens to scrap metal? 24 Sep 2008 (Forum)
With the price of scrap metal being at an all time high I was just wondering what they really do with it? Do our new Mondeos, Citroens, BMW's come from the metal of a scrapped Mk2 golf or an old peugeot 205? With so many new vehicle manufactured daily how many have been manufactured from recycled metal? Cheers
  • Jaguar X-Type Estate (2004 - 2007) - or 3-Series Touring 3 Jan 2008 (Forum)
X-type's seem overlooked miss out on the Jaguar brand which its other models have, and there seem to be some good deals as a result, new and used. Are there issues with it that the BMW doesn't have? Or is it just another of those image things with little tangible to complain about?

  • Tax exemption for 'classics' 24 Sep 2006 (Forum)
My daughter's employer has an old BMW he is fond of. Naturally she doesn't know what model. It is nearly 25 years old and he thinks it will become tax-exempt at that time. I understand however that this may not be the case. Sorry to be ignorant, but does anyone know what this situation really is?
