  • 2008 C3 1.4 Eight Valve - Whine on car 20 Jan 2013 (Forum)
A constant whine or whistle comes from near the accesory belt of my C3. I have heard this on a limited number of other C3s. My local garage ( not Citroen) took the drive belt off and ran the engine but say the whine was still there, anyone else come across this one.
  • cirtroen c3 - Fuel tank leak ?? 2 Apr 2011 (Forum)
I have just filled my citroen c3 1.4 diesel, and fuel has leaked from underneath the car.  Does anyone know if there is a relief or overflow valve that could cause a leak ?  I have checked the fuel pump area accessed from under the back seat and that is dry.

  • Staying power 28 Jul 2009 (Forum)
I wonder which cars are best for long term ownership, I guess it will be the usual suspects like BMW or Volvo, you see loads of older ones of these but rarely see an old Mondeo or Citroen Bx, lots of VW's of old around but few Cavaliers.
  • picasso vs almera tino 23 Apr 2007 (Forum)
On paper both the picasso and the tino fit my requirements: MPV, diesel, 3 proper rear seats, good boot, etc. I like the Nissan's reliability and the citroen's engine/ride. Spending up to £6k. Does anyone have experience of both? Thanks for any suggestions.
  • Dispatch Hdi £1300 catalyst and exhaust 18 Jun 2006 (Forum)
FIL's Exhaust went on Holiday last week he needed a new catalyst and front box as the cat was cracked. Ford rapid fit relieved him of £1300 to fix it. The biggest cost was the catalyst, a genuine Citroen part, at £800+Vat! If we were at home I could have searched the internet for a pattern part.
  • Picasso, C4 and C8 emergency braking 29 May 2006 (Forum)
Dad's Picasso (1.6 HDI 110) is supposed to have automatically activated hazard lights in commom with most of the Citroen range. They don't work. The dealer has said that they have several cars not doing this, including a C4 and C8, has anybody else had problems with hazard lights not activating in the event of hard braking?
  • Fine Weather Xantia ! 20 Dec 2004 (Forum)
Hi there, My dad has got a 1995 Citroen Xantia 1.8sx. It has an annoying problem in that if it's left outside overnight, it struggles to start and sometimes end with the alarm kicking in. If it's left in the garage overnight - no problem (unless it's left for a few days).
  • Facelifted C5 19 Oct 2004 (Forum)
What do you people think about facelifted Citroen C5 ? (http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/road_tests/index.htm?id=149 Any good ? We all know there were many problems with that limo, but maybe now would be a good time to give it a chance this time around.
  • Renault DCI engines? 28 Jul 2003 (Forum)
Anyone have any personal experience of the Renault DCI (specifically the 105 bhp version) engines? Looking at this or their 1.6 16v lump for a Scenic we are just about to purchase. I have used Citroens HDI units (90 bhp) & am impressed but have no personal experience of the DCI unit in Renaults. thanks for any info Marky Mark
  • HDI engine stalling easily 25 Dec 2002 (Forum)
Has anybody had a problem with Citroen Peugeot HDI 90 engines stalling easily? The car has been back to the dealer whose diagnostics found nothing wrong. They tightened the turbo pipe. (2002 Picasso HDI, 2 months old) Do HDI engines repond differently to different brands of diesel?
  • New Fiesta TDCI 16v? 28 Oct 2002 (Forum)
The new Ford Fiesta (and the Fusion) share the same 1.4 TDCI engine with the Citroen C3. The C3 has both a 70BHP 8 valve version and a 92BHP 16v version, but the Fiesta only has the lower spec 8 valve. Are there any insiders on this forum with any ideas or rumours as to when Ford will release the 16 valve engine for the Fiesta?
  • remote control door lock.Citroen 5 Apr 2002 (Forum)
The remote control door lock on my Citroen Xantia only operates on rare occasions. Batteries in the key fob are new,and the light flashes when used, but the door lock rarely operates. I have been told that perhaps it needs to be re-programmed.
  • A genuine request......... 10 Dec 2001 (Forum)
May I ask you all to re -read the thread.... Citroen BX Suspension. (Mel Woods) dated 10/12 . I think that the last couple of entries by Rich L and DW are so relevant and useful and, as they're tucked right at the end of a slightly specialist topic, they might not be seen.
  • Faint smell of fumes in car 15 Nov 2001 (Forum)
Got a 1992 Citroen ZX non-turbo diesel 90,000. Runs well etc. Hardly burns much oil. Checked exhaust system and tailgate and bonnet seals. Checked engine bulkhead for holes etc. but still getting faint fumes through air vents.
  • Mazda CX-60 - straight six diesel 2 Apr 2023 (Forum)
I like Mazda, a bit like Citroen, Saab and Subaru, they do things a lttle left of field. Launching a 6 cylinder diesel in the current climate must be either brave or foolhardy. https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-review/mazda/cx-60/first-drives/mazda-cx-60-33-e-skyactiv-d-awd
  • BMC 1800 Pininfarina 14 Jun 2022 (Forum)
A gold coloured BMC 1800 Pininfarina 1969, as in this link: https://tinyurl.com/2p93wt9z What a shame BMC didn't go with this design which was known as the Aerodinamica. Instead Citroen went with the design. What did we get? The Landcrab.

  • Music - does the car influence your choice 9 Jul 2013 (Forum)
So does your car influence your choice of music? I changed my Ford Kuga for a Citroen DS5 4 months ago. I'm listening to a lot less rock and a lot more chilled ambient music. I suspect a Skoda might lead to jazz or a Merc (but not AMG) to classics. Any thoughts?
