  It would seem that Renault have now come a cropper when allowing their cars to be subjected to the infamous elk test. Apparently, some german boffins from the ADAC were testing their new budget car, the Logan, and simulated an emergency lane change at 40 mph which resulted in the car flipping and landing on its roof.

  Idly chatting in the pub last night, somebody mentioned the Renault Spider, the one with no windscreen. Nobody could remember the last time they'd seen one or a mention of them in the usual car magazines. I checked on Autotrader this morning and there are a total of 6 for sale nationwide, one of them only 8 miles from here.

  Each time, pulling in at the side of the road and turning off the engine briefly has solved the problem. The car has done 59k miles. I know Renault auto gearboxes have a habit of going wrong so is this a sign that the gear box will soon need a bit of work done on it Any help or advice would be greatly apprecaited Cheers

  Does anybody else think this looks like an updated version of the Renault 25 - that was supposed to be "the latest" in car design when it was launched, ie a bit different from its mainstream competitiors, and it ultimately proved to be rather unpopular. I think its the Wraparound glass at the back which recalls the R 25.

  I was informed that the passenger side running light was full of condensation and for me to keep a eye on it incase water gets in causing an electrical fault and if it gets worse, Then they would contact renault to supply and fix a new sealed running light, When checking the light, I could see how bad it was for condensation, So i asked why can't it be done now, The lady on the desk told me, Renault wont replace it because its not in a bad enough condition,  This to me sounds crazy, There is a fault with the sealed unit, Why wait for it to get worse and even with condensation, Could it not cause an electrical fault.

  Car is a 2003 Renault Scenic 1.4 Authentic (run out model of the original style Scenic). We had it from new and it gave great service with minimal problems. It was serviced by myself. When we pensioned it off last year after 14 years and 100K we sold it to a mate at my work who runs bangers.

  On Tuesday I’m picking up a 2004 Renault Clio Dynamique 1.6. Its done 65k, apparently runs perfect are has no major faults. Price is £395 due to the fact that it has no M.O.T. Mot history for the last few years is perfect. I’m buying from a garage who have said they know no reason why it would fail an mot and they have great review and testimonials on their website.
