Renault Megane - Seized Engine - Trevvi

My engine has seized within a week of having it serviced, it's still full of oil. Is it possible that the garage is to blame and if so how do I go about proving it ?

An engine strip down by a specialist at another location with photos - note a specialist with a recognised practise.

Should cost you the best part of £1500 plus report. N

More if you go to court.

Of course, it may not be the garage's fault.. the oil pump may have sheared etc..

well it's very odd for sure, The only two things I can think of is that either the wrong oil was used or the oil filter failed. Get the oil tested and the filter examined else it's just bad luck

Perhaps the coolant disappeared?

either the wrong oil was used or the oil filter failed.

The incorrect spec oil usually affects the emmision system over a longer period than a week. The incorrect viscosity would be unlikely to affect an engine over a week as well.

|We don't know the engine type or age

BUT it could bea

broken cambelt

Waterpump

radiator leak

Failed turbo

etc etc etc..

Waste of time speculating.
