1.2 Turbo 100 experiences, opinions? - cheddar
Anyone driven one? Does the turbo make it feel nice and flexible?

Any experiences?

Thanks.

One would thought engine longevity would be compromised with all that power in a small engine.

Engine longevity is likely to be related to how well it is engineered.

My Civic had 170bhp from 1.8 litres and was still singing past 8k rpm at over 100k miles.

I think you'll find a 1.2 petrol with 100bhp will drive like a 1.6 8v engine - pull through the range but not too 'peaky'.

No personal experience of that particular engine tho :-(

My brother had a 1.2L turbo Clio as a hire car last year and was impressed with it. He is very tall and usual transport is an S60 or A6. I was surprised.

I have a '57' plate Clio 1.2 TCE,
It feels like the turbo gets going later in the revs.
One thing that annoys me though is the accelerator / clutch pull away in first gear. It takes some getting used to, seems to bunny hop a bit.
