How to get rid of the smell of cigarette smoke? 25 Apr 2021 (Forum)
My father has recently passed away, and I have taken ownership of his car (a Nissan Note). Unfortunately it stinks of cigarette smoke, as he was a driving smoker. I would NEVER buy a car which a smoker has owned because of the disgusting smell inside, but this is a different situation..... -
Honest John's Motoring Agony Column 18-05-2019 Part 1 17 Jun 2019 (Forum)
Please tell us the exact, full and verified circumstances of this Leaf owner who was quoted over 7 grand for a replacement battery because as far as Im aware, Nissan along with other EV manufacturers warrants replacement of the drive battery if the capacity falls below 75%. I can only presume this 'owner' wanted his battery replaced when well above the minimum warranted capacity or wanted to upgrade to a higher capacity pack. -
17 Plate March deals 19 Apr 2017 (Forum)
I get the impression from my travels Vauxhall have set its dealer network the most ambitious sales targets this month, there seems to be good deals on most of the range. Likewise good deals on certain vehicles for other manufacturers. Nissan seem keen to get rid of the last of the current shape Micra's It appears Renault have a stack of Clio's to shift. Likewise Fiat need to move on lots of 500 and 500X's Ford dealers falling over themselves to get rid of Fiesta's Be interesting in the 2nd week of April when the pre reg last day of the month registration figures come out. -
Subaru Forester - Fuel Additives 7 Feb 2016 (Forum)
Hi, I have recently bought a subaru forester diesel and upon reading the manual it states that no fuel additives are to be used at all. I just wondered if there is a reason for this as my previous car was a nissan xtrail and I used to add millers eco to the fuel, I did not add this for extra power it was for keeping fuel system clean which at mot time mechanic commented that emmisions were extremely low and dpf light hardly ever came on whilst using this. -

How Reliable Is Your Car? 14 Sep 2011 (Forum)
Just been reading the 2011 reliability survey on What Car and the top 10 is no surprise to anybody that its dominated by the Japanese and Koreans. With (in ascending order) Nissan, Kia, Hyundai, Subaru, Mazda, Suzuki, Mitsubishi, Lexus, Toyota and Honda making up the top ten. Honda recording only a 9% failure rate with apparently the 99-03 Accord being their worst performer but even that is in the top 10 for family cars. -
Kia Rio CRDi 29 Aug 2010 (Forum)
Having looked up a few reviews, most owners rave about the economy, value for money and reliability of these cars and Which rate Kia quite highly, in fact way higher than my current make, a Nissan. Doing about 9k a year, often in urban driving, is this car worth considering as it is cheaper than the Honda Jazz and Toyota Yaris that I am thinking of? -

How green was my alley? 2 May 2008 (Forum)
Nissan/Renault have announced that they will market an "electric car" in the US from 2010 and in Europe from 2011. Carlos Ghosan says the car will not be boring to drive and they have signed a deal with Israel because that country imposes an import duty of 70% on cars but only 10% if they are electric. -

Running in an Auto Petrol Engine Car 18 Jan 2007 (Forum)
Hi All I recently posted about having a ruptured Achilles Tendon and the problems I have had since. I am taking delivery of a new Nissan Note Auto petrol vehicle on Tuesday and I would appreciate any advice on Do's and Dont's of driving such a vehicle and also how do you control the revs for running in purposes. I have decided to trade in my 05 X-Trail diesel due to the heavy clutch action and the strain it would put on my left leg. -

Navara speed limit 9 Jun 2006 (Forum)
I've got a three year-old Nissan Navara pickup and somebody recently told me, because it's classed as a goods vehicle, I should be observing a lower speed limit on single carriage and dual carriageway roads. I know that's true of something like a transit van, but I'm not sure about the Navara. -
Startup technique: priming injectors 20 Mar 2006 (Forum)
P-reg Nissan Almeira. What's the correct technique for starting these "new-fangled" fuel injection cars? (I have previously driven carburettor cars). When I start up in the morning, I first turn the ignition half on for a couple of seconds. -
And this is what they call Green Energy" 24 Dec 2005 (Forum)
Hmm, maybe not totally motoring related, except to say that these turbines power the Nissan factory, so I suppose that's a good enough link. http://groups.msn.com/honestjohn/vehicles.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=303 http://groups.msn.com/honestjohn/vehicles.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=304 These were taken from the A19 this afternoon, apparently 7 fire engines had to attend (wish I'd seen how they fought such a high fire). -
Mazda 323 31 Oct 2004 (Forum)
The car seems to share lots of parts with the Toyota Corolla, and it doesnt seem dissimilar in design either, likewise wiht the Nissan Alemera. Any help and advice would be very much appreciated. -
Calling for www.uktuneup.co.uk team 23 Sep 2004 (Forum)
The web-site not seems to work so I hope the Mods would not mind me using the BR to call for Andrew or Adam. Would you kindly send me an email to garrison_tsang"at"lycos.co.uk please? My Nissan QX was high in CO though managed to passed its MoT in Apr after much revving. I have had the car "sniffed" again in Aug and CO is still high, though within MoT limit. HC is very low, sometimes below 10. -

I'll also be doing some long trips down south every few months but as the cost of these would be shared fuel economy isn't so important. Cars i've considered so far are: Skoda Felicia Estate (seem to be rare) Nissan Almera Any more ideas? Many thanks, Damian -
Reversing Cameras 8 Dec 2003 (Forum)
These fall off the windscreen anyway (the sticky pads cannot take the extra weight). But in these days of small covert cameras and Nissan Primeras with reversing TV images (she doesn\'t want as big a car as the Primera), does anyone know if such items can be sourced and retrofitted on cars? Thaks for any help anyone can give.
