The lies continue, Scrappage 3 Sep 2017 (Forum)
The VAG deals look attractive, so I dig further. Yup, strange discount exclusion statements on Volkswagen, dismiss them straight away...Skoda looks more straightforward so, £4000 off a superb...hmm....check HJ buy new cars section, type in Skoda superb as example, DTD comes up at an attractive discount, but wait.....what this?..... -
Hyundai I 20 - Hyundai I 20 21 Nov 2013 (Forum)
However, the I 20 carries on the good work of the Getz with the same warranty and masses of kit for reasonable money, but one I had as a courtesy car this summer and it seemed far more modern and better made than the Getz, in fact nearly on par with a Volkswagen. Also even in 1.2 litre form it was quiet and returned 48 mpg. I have nearly been swayed by Dacia, see another post, but seemingly for all they are excellent value for money, the technology is old and it's likely to make up for the price of such a cheap car, I could get a poor trade in. -
VW dealer - great service!! 24 Apr 2012 (Forum)
I just thought I'd post about some good news relating to a main dealer, and a VW dealer at that. Dealer: Listers Volkswagen, Evesham, Worcestershire I had my Passat 2.0 TDi (PD) serviced there today. In addition to the service I asked them to change the cambelt and tensioner, check brakes (noisy) and check f/n/s door hinge mechanism as it was clicking a bit on opening/closing. -
Import Myth... 4 Nov 2003 (Forum)
The buyer was aware that the car was an import and they couldn't care less anyway: it was the spec and full VW history that was important to them. So I would like to extend a warm 'Thank You' to Volkswagen UK for distorting the price of thier UK-supplied cars to the benefit of those who imported them from the continent. -

Transporter, Vivaro, Transit - Small Motor Vans: What you need to know! 14 Apr 2013 (Forum)
I have chosen the following vans because I have extensive personal experience of them. 1. Volkswagen Transporter from 2010 2. Vauxhall Vivaro (Renault Trafic, & Nissan Primera are the same van) 3. Ford Transit from 2006 To get the tedious stuff out of the way first, all of these vans are suitable for putting quite large heavy things in, driving to a different location and then taking them out again. -
VW Golf MK8 - ADAS recalibration required after wheel alignment? 10 May 2024 (Forum)
This is because the system’s sensors must accurately calibrate to the new wheel alignment. There is no mention about this in my Golf's owner's manual. Does anyone know if Volkswagen advise that ADAS recalibration should be performed after a wheel alignment? I would be interested to hear if anyone has experienced the same issue that I have had including on other makes of cars and I would be grateful for any advice. -
VW Amarok - Amarok AutomaticHJ review 6 Jun 2012 (Forum)
quote...."The automatic Amarok comes with an engine stop/start system as part of Volkswagen's fuel-saving BlueMotion Technology. A first for a pick-up and still pretty rare on many automatic passenger cars. It's a fairly intrusive system and quick to restart too. The Amarok also get regenerative barking and low rolling resistance tyres which helps improve fuel economy - it averages a claimed 37.2mpg and emits 199g/km - better figures than the 2.0 BiTDI 163PS Amarok with a manual gearbox."..... -
