Nissan X-trail 2.2 dCi - Nissan X-trail 2.2 dCi 2006 - a good buy ? 24 Sep 2013 (Forum)
Hi, I have been living in the north of Sweden for the last 6 years and now I feel its time to to get a 4 x 4 as we have about 5 - 6 months of winter. The car I have been looking at is a 2006 Nissan X-trail 2.2 dCi with 65000km on the clock and used to be owned by one of the councils here, they have serviced it but they do not have the service book. I have read a few negative things about the 2.2dCi engine but what would you advise - is this a good car ? -

Nissan Almera - Almera Gearbox 18 Oct 2015 (Forum)
The Nissan Almera 1.5 S, N16 petrol is a well designed strong motor together with a strong trouble free manual gearbox. I have worked as a trained mechanic for 25 years in a main Nissan dealership. Many people don't realise that you need to change the gear box oil every 50 - 70,ooo miles. -
Nissan Micra - Hello there! 4 Mar 2015 (Forum)
We got it at about 16k miles and its now done some 68k Its replacement, a 32500 mile FSH Citroen C4 Auto on a 07 is costing us, again £2k, with 3 months warranty. The lady who bought the Nissan wanted her next car to be a Nissan and an Auto, so that ruled out 99% of the cars out there! Now, I have a question for you. To save hassle the buyer's son in law is arriving to pick it up in her old L reg Nissan Micra that I have offered him to leave here so I can scrap it. -

Nissan Note - Gap Insurance from a main dealer - fact or fantasy 2 Jun 2012 (Forum)
I recently bought a NIssan, in the short time I've had the car I have leant a lot about nissan dealers and the extras they tout, I can also see why they score poorly as compared to the likes of Honda Dealers etc. Under no circumstance take out a Nissan dealer's Gap insurance, Gap insurance is imho a good thing to have, for those that don't know it effectively covers the short-fall between what your insurer pays out and the purchase price of your car, in the event of a total loss claim, normally covering up to 3 years. -

Nissan Terrano Clutch Slipping 22 Aug 2006 (Forum)
Doesn't do it from cold (takes 1/2 an hour driving or more to show), no better/worse towing or 4WD. First noticed problem at 11K miles, got worse and by 13K miles (Nissan dealer replaced clutch under warranty at 13K but stated clutch hardly had any wear). Noticed slip again at 21K miles, went away, came back again at 23K miles (last month Nissan dealer checked clutch control set-up/tolerances and was in spec, then raised High Tech inquiry with Nissan). -
