Car for partly disabled driver

My sister-in-law is partly disabled with spine problems that cause left foot drop. She currently has an ex-mobility 06 plate Nissan Micra automatic which she likes but which is unreliable. She previously had an older style Toyota Corolla automatic which she liked but which was heavy on fuel. She now needs to change her Nissan and get something reliable, comfortable, has easy access and is affordable. I guess that she has about £3k - £4k plus what she gets for the Nissan. I think a Fiat Panda would suit her but do you have any suggestions?
