  A bit of forward planning combined with trepidation about the MOT diesel emissions test! Car is Audi A4 TDi 115 reg. Sept 2000. Mileage 35,000 Warranty until end of August 2000, first MOT due at same time presumably. My queries are: a) Cambelt change for this model, as stated in service handbook, is 60,000 miles.

  Therefore I thought I'd post a new one. Sorry if this has already been covered. I looked at a 2000 W reg Audi S3 yesterday and only discovered at the last minute that it was an import. Now, because it is an import it would only have had a two year warranty, which has now expired, so I would not have any warranty issues - I simply buy a new one from Audi.

  It appears that all the really desirable ones are only available new i.e.Rover Tourer, VW 130 bhp or Audi 130bhp. The Mondeo with similiar spec is not yet available. Any advice on what to go for? Is the Audi A4 really better than the bigger Passat. The Current Mondeo Diesel is rather cheap as an import.

  I had a persistent cool-running problem with the Audi 100 that I sold last year. It surged and stalled, sometimes in dangerous circumstances. None of the Audi main dealers who serviced it regularly over most of its 10-year life with me solved the problem, which was almost certainly attributable to coking up because of short-trip usage.

  My friend (who is not too knowledgable in the world of motoring) recently bought herself a lovely second hand Audi TT (not from an Audi garage). At the time she bought it, it had a private plate on that she was told would be transferred back to the original owner. Well, she bought the car, with the private plate on still, and has the V5 form, so officially, the car and private plate are registered to her.
