Does anyone know anything about the number plate on Alex Polizzi's Audi on the Hotel Inspector. It appears to spell POLIZZI.

Read on another forum that it's probably an Ulster plate POL 1221.

Could it be these'false' number plales were just attached to the car for filming purposes, TV companies normally go to great lengths not to show, celebrities real registration numbers (ie Blurring out ).

They haven't with Mary Portas' Audi convertible. that number plate gets shown all the time. Then again, one Audi looks pretty much like any other.

There are obviously a number of cars around where the lettering has been re-arranged to spell a name or a message. Has anyone ever been pulled over by the police, or had an MOT failure, because the lettering was so distorted that it was difficult to tell what it really should be?

I've had a fail for the letters being too small. Due to a plate company ignoring my height request for a jap import plate and making the front one too small, but I stuck with it for "JDM yo! bling factor" and forgot to swap them pre-test.

Now I come to think of it, I'm pretty sure I forgot again last year, but it passed.

It happens all the time. Fixed penalty fine.

Unacceptable spacing, wrong fonts and coloured rivets mean you might as well erect a 25 foot arrow on top of the car with flashing lights rolling down to the driver saying "book me".

Off topic, but related to the above, I recall seeing a young lad, maybe 16 or 17 on his moped / scooter at a petrol station, and the bodywork of the thing was covered in marijuana stickers, leaf shapes "legalise it" stuff. I thought if ever there is a request to get pulled by the police at every opportunity, thats it right there.

It's definitely a fake plate only put on for filming while on the private land.

There was one scene in last year's series where the car was filmed on the highway and the plate was normally blurred out, but the blurring was missed on occasion and a complete and standard registration plate was visible.

I agree with Muggy - it is definitely fake number plate, POLI ZZI plate is only featured at the beginning of the show, however later in the show the same car appears with standard plates reading OE09 MMF which is DVLA registered black Audi 2009.
