Good but….

Satisfied with the vehicle mechanically: smooth, especially in traffic, relaxing and not too slow. Re the many gadgets, the Sat Nav is hopeless and well out of date. Dealer doesn't know how, or want to update as they don't have broadband. So they say. Did it myself and it took hours but still the sat nav is worse than useless. TomTom to the rescue.

Another rather major shortfall is the Toyota Safety System. This is touted as a safety benefit, but is very unreliable, and verging on hazardous. It is affected by low sun, and brings up a flashing bright warning sign in the dashboard, and ceases functioning until the engine is turned off and then on again. In the rain, in cold weather and sometimes for no obvious reason, the useful automatic headlamp main beam system switches off, despite the windscreen being clean. Can be switched to manual, which required the selector to be turned through "off" whereupon all lamps extinguish. Takes some practice to be confident to do this in motion! Dipped beam only by default when you need (and can use) main beam is not a strong selling point on unlit rural roads. Warning signs flashing up time and again are distracting. On a recent damp night on the outskirts of Manchester, on a dual carriageway, off it goes again. Bit distracting to have orange warning signs flashing doom, and main beam out of service until manually re-activated at 60 ish! Have raised the matter again with the dealership.
