Nothing special.

Bought at the time as it was winning awards in a bit of a rush. A hard car to love! And a bit Boring to drive. Has a harsh under current of noise which is tiring on the ears on long trips. Front Seats too small and uncomfortable - you kind of sit out of the top of them at your shoulders (I’m 6 ft tall of normal build) although my wife finds them fine.

Doesn’t feel as big as it is when driving which is a good thing

Powered rear tailgate is irritating. Always worry about it banging into the roof of garage - and I know this can be reset to stop early but equally there are times when you need to open the tailgate fully.

Fuel economy about 34 mpg average for us. Which is significantly below the brochure quoted figure. Only 3 mpg better than my 3.6 litre v8 Range Rover L322 which has done 120,000 miles.

As a comparison, This replaced a Renault grande espace 2litre turbo - which was better in every way bar fuel economy (albeit marginally) and tech developments. Fuel economy was a big reason for replacement so the fuel economy discrepancy we actually get on the Kodiaq from quoted numbers is very frustrating and kind of colours my view of the whole car.

Maybe the diesel is better - reviews seem to say so? 1.4 petrol feels a bit underpowered - or rather you have to work the engine - even with a turbo, although it does cruise fine on the motorway .

Tyre pressure sensors have been malfunctioning for most of ownership Despite being returned to dealership several times. Not a big thing.

In car entertainment is Really Very good and intuitive. Sound quality of stereo good. Satnav good. Apple play great.

3d presentation of all around cameras good but like most of these things, such gimmicks don’t Make the car interesting

Very Big boot and with all seats folded down, a very big load capacity. Tows well and stays stable even with 4 bikes on a tow bar rack hanging off the back.

Interior, to my taste, budget feeling - it just lacks style, design interest or a luxury feel. Suspension not very refined and jars / bobbles the occupants about - particularly as a passenger - regardless of driving mode selected.

slow off the mark and there’s a delay of a couple of seconds before the car starts to move after pressing the accelerator - tricky at some junctions and pulling out into busy traffic.

Cruise control fiddly.

I know lots of people really like these things and I recognise my review may be different from those of other contributors but it’s not for me - I wish I’d spent a bit more money and bought a better quality car. I’d hoped it would be a bargain (ish) luxury feeling car. It isn’t.

Looks good apart from the clumsy looking Black plastic front grill.

4x4 does seem to work although it’s no range rover. Good ground clearance.

Very Reliable over 45,000 miles apart from tyre sensors.
