Love it

I needed a car that would tow a horse trailer and had to really go through all the models with a fine tooth comb because I also wanted to be able to carry a spare, to get what I wanted I had to go for a lower spec model and add to it. I added heated leather seats, tow bar, spare wheel and rear view camera (had to have one as I had it on my Mitsubishi Shogun) and it cost nearly as much as an Edition model with less toys. I took delivery in October 2017.

I love the car and the driving position is really nice for both myself at 5ft 4 and my husband at nearly 6ft. He loves this car as well and regularly pinches it, as this is the work horse vehicle. We also have an Octavia VRS. It is fairly quick off the mark and after a Mitsubishi the fuel economy is brilliant but I'm getting about 39mpg and I mainly drive urban. It is really comfortable on a long journey whether driving or passenger. Plenty of leg/head room in the back.

I have towed my horse trailer a few times and it pulls really well. My trailer is quite heavy so I probably wouldn't put 2 large horses in as I think it might struggle a little bit on big hills (the weight would be up to about 2200kgs.) For a caravan/trailer tent it would be great as they tend to be a lot lighter. I love the button in the boot for the tow bar to come out but it should come supplied with a cover for the ball hitch.

Three weeks after delivery I had a fault with the Emergency SOS call button beeping and saying that there was an error and to call the workshop. After the first time it just beeped every time it failed on the same journey. It seemed to keep doing a reset but was intermittent. I took it into the dealer and they said it hadn't been prepped properly and needed a software update. They did this and 2 weeks late the same fault occurred. Back into the dealer this time for 3 weeks, it came out I drove it up the road and it started speaking to me. It went back in again and they had it for 3 weeks before it actually started speaking to them. It had been repaired and touch wood has been working correct since. They replaced the antenna, ECU unit and checked the wiring. One of those things was causing the problem.

Overall I would highly recommend this car, it has good storage space and doesn't feel cramped and for a big vehicle it's quite nippy. fuel economy is really good, even when towing. It is well built and draws attention from people.
