1987 XJ 3.6 (first with square headlights) Parked it, everything OK. Came to start, one cough, then nothing. Try again, nothing, but while churning, all the dashboard dials flash together till I stop churning. Try again, same thing, all dials flash in unison. I've changed the plugs, but it makes no difference. Does anyone have any ideas? Read more
I have a 94 Peugeot Turbo Diesel Sedan, which has been an excellent car. I am now looking to replace it with something with the same economy, performance and road holding, although I don't necessarily need one of the same size.
I seem to remember that you recommended something in the Seat range.
Any suggestions?

What you remember was the SEAT Ibiza TDI 90. Very economical, chuckable and fun. An excellent traffic car. In Europe they even had an Ibiza TDI 110 with traction control (which it needed).

The local library has been unable to help and the local police seem unsure! Saturday's column gave the relevant information for a non 4WD tow vehicle, where can the relevant regulations be found? Regarding towing a small livestock trailer from muddy fields by, say a Discovery. Is it better with a manual box or will an automatic do just as well?
Just changed a headlight bulb. Impossible to do without removing a bracket holding 4 relays. This was held in by 2 bolts. Now it's held in by only one as the other was impossible to replace. Great design or what!
