  • Mondeo auto starting problems 14 Apr 2003 (Forum)
Does anyone have any previous experience of this problem? Am I doomed to spend Sunday changing the starter motor? Are Halford?s starter motors any good? Can you find out if all the recall modifications have been carried out work on a Ford Mondeo? Should I call the RAC? ;-)All contributions gratefully accepted.

  • 2008 Ford Focus Mk2.5 Titanium 1.8 Duratec Petrol - 08 Ford Focus 1.8 Weird Revs/Idle No Codes But S 4 Sep 2020 (Forum)
The alternator's 3-pin plug is getting a signal to and from the ECU too apparently. It's one of those SmartCharge things Ford is adamant is a good thing. He reconnected the alternator and the car's idle went mental, rising to 2.5K and more without touching the accelerator pedal. We disconnected the 3-pin plug so it's now working as a standard alternator.

  • Other - Big+Tall guy - car recommendations please 1 Nov 2016 (Forum)
Hi all,   I'm 6ft 2, 500lbs with wide hips and a big behind - I'm looking to buy a car and would like some recommendations from those who may be  big or tall or ideally both, on what cars they have found comfortable to drive? I don't mind whether it's manual or automatic, and I''ll be buying an old 2nd hand (max £2.5K budget) if that helps narrow things down. I'm looking for something that primarily accommodates me - I won't normally have passengers and if so, they'll have to fit themselves around me.

  • The Audi is 2.... 27 Feb 2006 (Forum)
VW Golf Plus 2.0 TDI DSG Skoda Octavia estate 2.0 TDI DSG Mercedes B200 CDI (CVT equivalent) BMW 320D ES Touring automatic (anyone know what sort of auto this is? - and I think it may eb too expensive anyway) Mazda 6 estate 2.0 diesel (but no auto) Ford C-Max 2.0 TDCI (auto is torque-converter and will sap performance) Audi A4 Avant 2.0 - might seem the obvious choice but still expensive and I might as well have the Golf or the Skoda as the engine is the same.

  • Fiesta 2003 1.4TDCi - Ford Fiesta dipstick snaps 1 Apr 2014 (Forum)
and that you have a supply of gasket sealent (Usually the blue variety) as a traditional cork gasket isn't used here. Ordered a new dipstick from Ford (line of thought being that one out of a scrap yard might already be weakened and break again) but it is supplied with the external part of the dipstick tube even though I didn't think I needed it.
