Buying a small SUV - what's best?
My wife wants to downsize to downsize from our trusty family V70 and also improve fuel consumption. She needs plenty of leg room in the back with two growing teenage sons. Most journeys are short local ones.
We found the new Golf and sadly it wasn't quite big enough inside.
She prefers the interior space of the Tiguan. The only viable Tiguan auto seems to be the diesel though. And if you want a nice light interior the leather seats bump up the cost.
I would appreciate your view on the Tiguan and any other alternatives.

It's okay, but also look at the new Mazda CX-5, new Honda CR-V, new Toyota RAV-4 and new Ford Kuga. Toyota does a RAV-4 2.0i Valvematic Multidrive S $WD.

Apologies if this comes across as a rather long winded one... The decision isn't an easy one, hence a simple bit of advice would be most gratefully received!

Decent SUV with diesel automatic option. Comfortable seats. Escape version capable off-road. Optional Park Assist works well. Much better from September 2011 facelift.
