Audi A5 - Fuel economy 2 Oct 2018 (Forum)
Ok so modern cars are obviously great and all, but I am really struggling to understand how my Audi A5 2.0 TFSi S Tronic is so economical? As it’s passed 15k miles it’s really stepped up. Over the last 2000 miles (a mix of Manchester congestion, and motorways) I am averaging 43mpg. 10 years ago I didn’t get that from a Ford Focus 1.6 petrol. -
Subaru Forester - Britains dirtiest diesel car 24 Jul 2018 (Forum)
The Forester produced 2.02 / kg of Nox which is 25 times the official limit Further tests revealed since 2017 five Renaults appear in the list of the 10 most polluting cars. But at the other end of the spectrum are The Mercedes E and S class which in one spec produced 0.023/ kg of Nox. Apparently these MB models are not affected by the recent controversy. As regards petrol cars the Ford Ka and Fiat 500X and Audi Q2 top the list as the most polluting while naturally the Prius and CHR hybrids are the cleanest. -
Volvo S40 Second generation (2004–2012) - Possible used buy (from auction) 23 Mar 2014 (Forum)
My father (in his 70's but still good driver) is thinking about getting rid of his S40 Mk1 which is now tired with 150k miles. He has about £6k to spend. Advice needed !! Fiesta Shock Absorbers 2 Mar 2006 (Forum)
I have a 98 Ford Fiesta Ghia X 1.4 which I am looking to sell as I now have a company car. I recently had it MOT'd and it failed on a leaking o/s front shock absorber which will now need replacing. I am under the impression that you will need to replace the other front shock absorber otherwise the vehicle will feel imbalanced. -

Mondeo wheel trims move on wheel 14 Sep 2004 (Forum)
The wheel trims over a short period of time rotate on the wheel and bend the valve over. My local Ford dealer said it was due to the combination of rimless wheels used on the new Mondeos and the particular tyres fitted from new - Continental Premium Contact. They replaced the front tyres with Continental Sport Contact 2's under warranty but that didn't solve the problem. -
Still got your 'ears on' ? 26 May 2004 (Forum)
Does anyone still have and use CB in their car? I remember in the early 80's almost every other car sprouting a DV27/Firestick/K40 etc., but haven't seen any for ages, although I dare say some truckers still use them. Even Ford, IIRC, used to fit them to some new cars. Wouldn't be surprised if it was the kiddy factor that killed it off - I got involved in it around '78 but very rapidly cooled off when it became legal in '81 and rapidly acquired my amateur radio licence.
