What we need to do is to ignore the rubbish about 4*4's destroying the environment and passing laws specifically to get 4*4's off the road. The reason being this is that 4*4's have become the icon of excess, hence the new 4*4 taxes being muted. Ford suggest that unspent fuel due to the misfire has wrecked the catalytic converter and possibly the upstream sensor(s). Cost to repair - another £1,500. Have had various alternative suggestions to replacing the converters like applying heat to burn out any residues.
