Stratstone to Sell Classic Jaguars 8 Mar 2013 (News)
Peter Neumark added: "Being one of the last fifty E-Types ever built makes this car not only an important piece of Jaguar’s history but will also probably prove to be a very wise investment. We hope that it helps to increase foot fall at Stratstone's Mayfair showroom and subsequently sales of new models. It also demonstrates their belief in the importance of Jaguar's history to the brand. -

But there is huge interest across the pond in 'classic' American cars from the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s and six figure sums are being realised for some of them. -
Classic Auction Bridgwater 31st July 27 Jul 2007 (News)
Representing a rare opportunity, as Dunsmores rarely change hands, this example is supplied with a V5C document and a current MOT certificate and is estimated around £16,000. The Ford V8 Pilot was originally registered during August 1950 in Pembrokshire, moving to Somerset three years later where it was owned and operated by nurserymen Kelway & Son of Langport. However, they did come first in class with Chris and Judy Beighton in the 1964 Ford Mustang taking second place. Third place went to Linda Tucker and Sarah Jennings in the 1971 MGB GT Coupe. David Wenman and Jeff Robinson had a tight hold on the lead in the Vintage class in their 1929 Chrysler 75 right up to day five but then it all went wrong on the tests and they dropped out of the podium positions. -

It comes with V5C and MoT and is estimated at £22,000 to £26,000, They used to say "the fastest car is a rental car." In this case it probably was. Almost unbelievably, back in 1966, after Ford released its 310HP Shelby Mustang GT350 road-legal race car, the Hertz company put 1000 of them on its rental fleet, re-named the GT350H, at a fee of $17 a day. Available first in Raven Black with Bronze stripes, and later in Wimbledon White, Sapphire Blue, Ivy Green and Candy Apple Red the ‘Rent-a-Racers’ were hired from local Hertz depots, then drag raced and circuit raced over the weekends. -
