• Peugeot Radio Code 1 Jul 2005 (Forum)
  Since changing the battery on my Peugeot 406, the radio has lost it's code (dispite using a slave battery!) and I cannot find the code anywhere at home. I contacted the supplying dealer who said because the car had not been to them for two years it had "dropped off the system", but the could give me the code for a fee of £25.

  I've read some of the threads re peugeot electrical faults but nothing sounds like what my car is doing. I'm getting a dodgy buzzing/clicking noise coming from behind the glove compartment, I took it to a garage to get my headlight bulb replaced as it was slightly dimmer than the other and asked them to look at it.

  Well, there you have it. Also, I have included two pics of the net result of a low speed cambelt failure on a Peugeot 205 Diesel - merely a broken can bearing. A 2nd hand cam cap was fitted and all was well for evermore!

  Car is Peugeot 406 diesel estate 1999 model year. I have an intermittent problem with the Central Door locking. I can use the plip on the key fob to lock/unlock but 5 mins later it won't work at all. It was re-programmed a while ago by the local Pug agent but it was still intermittent then.

  I have an elderly Peugeot 505 GTi Family Estate which has served the family well for many years. However, though mechanically it's still pretty good, various bits are starting to drop off/not work! Replacement time! I still need 6-7 seats, big enough for teenagers (not small!)

  I was wondering if anyone can help me with a noise that has started to appear on my above car, only when conditions are wet. The car has done 81,000 miles but has been regularly serviced (as per service log and by a Peugeot dealer). The timing belt was changed in August. When I stop and turn the key to switch off, the engine cuts but a 'ratchett' type noise sounds (as if something is 'running on'). I had a new alternator put on the car (about a year ago), as the other one gave up the ghost, but don't know if would be anything in that area.

  My car is a peugeot 306 xl. Petrol with Cat converter. It has had an intermittent fault which has just resurfaced after a year of it being fine. It just revs itself when I don\'t have my foot on the accelerator - it\'s like I\'m reving up at lights to race off!

  In HJ's car by car breakdown for the Peugeot 405, rust appears at the top of the list of what's bad. HJ also said about the 405 a while ago: Look for rust "in the seams and in the brake lines. Get the thing on a hoist and have a good look underneath.

  I now have an airbag intermittent fault which I've been trying to sort out. However this particular reader does not have the specific Peugeot data embedded to enable me to read the airbag codes. When I bought it it came with the data for several makes including Peugeot on a CD together with a CD which is supposed to enable you to delete embedded data files that you don't require giving room to add files from the data CD which you do need.
