Preview: Artcurial classic car auction, Paris, 20 October 27 Sep 2013 (News)
It's a snip at the €400,000–450,000 estimate. Other highlights of this sale include a 1962 Maserati 3500 GTi Cabriolet (€300,000–400,000), one of just 242 built. The 1962 Ferrari 250 GTE coupé (€150,000-200,000) is an original and unrestored example in what Arturial describes as 'wonderful condition, with the charming patina of the upholstery and trim convey the life of this car, in the hands of enthusiasts for over 50 years.' -
Preview: Summertime Classics, Leicestershire, 7 July 29 May 2013 (News)
You don’t have to belong to a club to come along, but many owners’ clubs are already booking display areas for their members, including those representing Pontiac, Triumph Stag, Sunbeam Alpine and Alvis owners – all of which is a bit of a change from our usual fare of Ferraris, Maseratis and Lamborghinis! But since we couldn’t ignore Italian cars altogether, our Italophile friends will be joining us too, with Italian cars from all eras (including modern) and the longstanding Auto Italia Concours forming a centrepiece.' -
Preview: Barons classic car auction, Sandown Park, 9 June 9 May 2013 (News)
Other entries include a 1966 Jaguar E-type S1 roadster (£55,000-£60,000, and a Barons speciality), a rare 1939 Freestone & Webb E4 Straight 8 Daimler Sports Saloon (£33,000-£38,000), and a 1968 Jaguar 420 Saloon (the underrated Mk2 variant), which was the subject of a nut-and-bolt restoration two years ago (£17,000-£19,000). Finally, the sale also includes an affordable future classic; a 1992 Maserati Spyder E 2.8 Biturbo. This rare right-hand drive model has been very well maintained and is offered complete with a huge history file. And, with an estimate of £3500-£4500, looks like a great punt for those who have a spirit for adventure. -
Barn Find Rolls to Star in Sandown Park Auction 20 Jul 2010 (News)
Other Jaguars on offer include a totally original 1968 MkII 3.4/340 Saloon with automatic transmission and just 20,800 miles on the clock (£19,500-£25,000). One rarity is the 4.7-litre 1972 Maserati Mexico which has been on display in the Bentley Motor Museum in East Sussex for the past two decades (£30,000-£40,000). Another unusual entry is the steel-bodied 1956 Ford E83W Step-Side Pick-Up, one of just a handful known to remain in the UK. -
Time Warp Bugatti Type 57 in Guildford Classic Car Auction 25 May 2008 (News)
Despite an unwelcome retirement from the April British Empire Trophy meeting, 1957 promised to be even better, until a coming-together with Lance Reventlow's Maserati at Snetterton on 27 July. Reputedly assuming full responsibility for the accident, which left Horridge with a broken spine, Reventlow had BHL9 returned to Lister for substantial repairs. -

Italian Job Miura to star at London show 19 Jan 2016 (News)
The actual wreck that was pushed down the mountainside in the movie was another Miura that had already been badly damaged in a crash. The legendary Lamborghini joins Ferraris and Fiats, Lancias and Maseratis in the Italian ‘squad’ as part of the Six Nations-inspired theme of the London show. The Italians will take on teams of classic cars from Great Britain, France, Germany, Japan and America. -

Ferraris to top the RM lots in Monte Carlo? 7 Apr 2014 (News)
Other top drawer Ferraris include a matching-numbers 1967 Ferrari 330 GTS (estimate €1,500,000–1,800,000), and a 2006 Ferrari 575 GTZ with coachwork by Zagato, one of just six examples made (€880,000–1,050,000). But we love the 1956 Maserati 450S Prototype (below), which is also one of the sale's true stars. It's an ex-works car, having competed in the 1956 Mille Miglia, driven by Sir Stirling Moss and Denis Jenkinson. If that's not enough to secure its all-time great status, consider that after the race, it returned to the factory where it became the prototype for the new eight-cylinder 450S. -

Why are Aston Martins so hard to sell? 17 Dec 2019 (News)
The modern era of Aston Martins is also now competing in the same field as higher value cars from Maserati, Jaguar and Bentley, which are all fighting for the same buyer. Aston Martins from the mid-90s onwards, such as the DB7 and DB9 , were manufactured in high numbers and therefore fall into a category where supply currently outweighs demand.
