It would seem that a 12 to 18 month old vehicle is expensive in relation to a new one and the new engine is worth having. To avoid this typical Catch 22 I am considering importing one. Can anyone comment on the wisdom of this and suggest an agency that will do it at a reasonable saving? Regards TimW -

Mines a 54 plate, and the difference in shape is obviously noticeable, also it is a different material, the supplier has specified it is important to select right head gasket, but mechanics saying its not important as long as the holes are in the same place, I am really concerned about this and would like somebody to advise me about the importance of the right head gasket part. -

Like the name of this thread states, is the colour of your car that important? Ok so buying 'kiss of death' dark blue will (apparently) lose you loads at trade in time but as for other colours is it really that important what shade your car is? I'm really not that bothered but after reading a car magazine article today even the psychologists are getting in a lather about it.
