  So after 4 years the car kept 55% of its original value. The buyer was aware that the car was an import and they couldn't care less anyway: it was the spec and full VW history that was important to them. So I would like to extend a warm 'Thank You' to Volkswagen UK for distorting the price of thier UK-supplied cars to the benefit of those who imported them from the continent.

  I've got a dilema! - I have an imported Focus, but the reg doc shows "new at first registration". The only give away is my Service Book which shows where the car originally came from (Belgium) The car is 100% UK spec I've been offered a reasonable trade in figure against a new car at my local dealer, who gave the price without asking if it was an import or even going out to check the car over.

  An imported car from Ireland, pre reg on 01/09/09 - on the road price sub 18500 quid. Saving of aprox 9k rrp, but real saving about 5k as local dealers will give a 5k discount. It's ready for a right hand drive country.
