Clio - European Car of the Year 2005 15 Nov 2005 (Forum)
The new Renault Clio has won the European Car of the Year Award for 2005. The new VW Passat was second. The Alfa Romeo 159 was third. Renault were quick off the mark with an advert today and directing potential customers to their website http://www.vavavoom.co.uk/index_flash.html -- Roger I read frequently, but only post when I have something useful to say. -

Renault diesel-unfeasibly high emissions 14 May 2003 (Forum)
My 1996 60,000 mile Laguna diesel failed it's MOT emissions test - which at 60k miles it shouldn't do I reckon. Maybe my daily 5 mile trips are to blame... -
Small secondhand automatic? 6 Feb 2003 (Forum)
Could anyone recommend a small reliable automatic for my wife? Our maximum budget is £2,000 which is somewhat limiting. Have spotted a few 1990-92 Renault Clio autos within price band, but the guides warn against old Renault autos for poor reliability. Most important factor is reliability. I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who runs a Micra or Punto CVT auto. -
french garages 22 May 2002 (Forum)
Has anyone used french garages and found them cheaper? As we're going there on holiday would it pay to get them done when out there? Renault bits are expensive here as is labour - Is it be fair to assume that as every other car in france is a renault, then parts/labour would be cheaper. -
A tale of two renaults 14 Jun 2005 (Forum)
A tale of three Renaults actually Renault 1, is my Laguna. Its been acting the goat lately. Slightly overdue for its 36k Miles service, the clutch pedal started to loose feel. And sticking down. And dragging In the morning. -
Renault Laguna Coupe - After years of pontificating and drooling 12 Jul 2021 (Forum)
It's been a classic case of head versus heart; my heart loved the look of it, the fact that it had a certain "exclusivity" - OK, Renault's marketing and dealer reputation left a lot to be desired and the look of the hatchback didn't exactly help. In fact, such was the poor image that Renault have stopped selling them in this country. -

Renault Clio II - Renault Clio misfire and low compression 22 Jul 2013 (Forum)
Hi all, I have a 2002 Renault Clio 1.2 16v that when the engine light, bottom right hand corner, isn't on it runs great, it pull's nicely in all gears up to 70+mph. Then at idle the engine light flashes on and it runs rough, the plug on Cylinder 4, furthest from gearbox, is all sooty whereas the rest are look great, cylinder 4 is also 30psi down on all the other cylinders, there is a slight popping noise at the exhaust I have changed the wiring loom that goes from the ECU to the injectors and that, due to it being chaffed a little bit, the metal cage had been removed before I got the car. -
2005 Renault Grand Espace 3.0 dCi - Renault Grand Espace Overheating 14 Nov 2012 (Forum)
I have a 2005 Renault Espace. I noticed when i was on the motorway that the car would begin to overheat. i pulled over and loosened the radiator cap. That seemed to release pressure in the system and then magically the car woudl run fine again on the motorway. -
Renault Espace (1997 - 2002) - 99 2.0 Autobox, either repair or change to manual? 13 Sep 2009 (Forum)
Hi All, As seems to be normal with renaults, my auto transmission no longer wishes to take me anywhere unless in reverse. Strange because it was fully reconditioned at a cost of £1200 just 20K miles ago. I suspect it's terminal because there are filings in the oil and the oil looked dark and burnt. -
Renault Megane (1999 - 2002) - 1999 1.6 rt 16V - Cambelt change intervals 8 Sep 2008 (Forum)
and anyone know exactly how many Renaults belts snap before 72000? The time period is not mentioned in the handbook as far as I can see. Call me Mr cynical but I don't fancy spending £620 unless I really have too esp as the car has a low milage for it's age. -
Renault Megane 31 Aug 2003 (Forum)
I have looked into this and can't find any information about it. The car when loaded is a death trap, how can Renault be allowed to get away with this. I know most cars are rarely loaded up like this but when the Megane is it becomes extremely dangerous. I have spoken to Renault about this and they have informed me that we must have over loaded the car, I think not. -

I have a Renault Laguna 2004, 1.8 16V engine, 5.40 litres, mileage: 90,000km The battery was flat, tried to start with another car battery using a lead, I made a mistake in connection which I correct immediately the battery sparks, so I started d car, allow to run then move got to my destnatio, switch off, remove the card, parked for about 5 hours, then by the time I got to the car I insert the card, but the card reader will not read the card, so ignition light did not come on, car refuse to start. -
Renault Clio II - Advice - to buy or not to buy 25 Jul 2010 (Forum)
It's had 2 services from the first owner (main dealer I think) but not for the last 2 years. The garage is a well known name franchised dealership (not renault though) and they've had it a while now and have reduced it a few hundred quid. I'm not mechanically minded but it runs well, will come with a warranty, HPI clear etc. Best I've seen so far. -
