  • Fine sand covering 2 Jun 2008 (Forum)
The recent southerly winds have left my car covered in a thin layer of what appears to be very fine sand. I have tried hosing it off, without success. I'm concerned that washing it in this condition will grind the sand into the finish and leave severe swirl marks.

  • Motor Insurance 11 Jan 2009 (Forum)
I was wondering if anybody out there has had a similar experience to ours with our motor insurance policy. We have full cover on our car and when we took it out we specified all that we wanted covered and of course this included fire and theft but after having a problem with our car and the loom burnt out we were told the car was a virtual right-off and to contact our insurance company so we were horrified to be told that it was not covered as the policy did not cover electrical faults or wear and tear but surely nowadays all cars have so many electrical parts this is silly.

  • Vauxhall Warranties 6 Nov 2008 (Forum)
I already have a discuusion going on whether a deal I have been offered on a pre reg zafira is any good. I have a question about manufacturers 3 year warranty (actually 28mths) in this car's case. What does it cover? The reason I ask is the dealer offered an additional 3 year warranty for £399 saying that the warranty that came with new cars was 'step down' ie. in the 1st year it covers so much, in the 2nd yr what's covered is less and, in the 3rd yr even less is covered.
  • "Some mail order company" - be warned 3 Mar 2005 (Forum)
Today (three months later) I received the car cover complete with credit card slip - "card holder not present". I have bought another cover elsewhere in the meantime so do not need this one. I have written to them asking for a refund and asking them to collect the cover; based on previous experience I do not expect a fast response.
  • Luton Chavport car park 23 Jan 2006 (Forum)
Please note Luton Chavport car park has no security cameras covering the car park itself. There is one on entry and exit but none covering the car park. I leave you to decide what happens to the cars parked there 'at your own risk'.
  • 306 estate boot cover 1 Jul 2007 (Forum)
on my 306 the boot cover is a flimsy fold up cover that isnt great I was wondering if it would be possible to swap it for one that folds in its self ie. like a spring loaded type that the 406 etc have? I know theres non made for a 306 but wondered if theres any companies that make them or any other cars that may fit?
  • Cover Abroad 14 Jul 2007 (Forum)
I'm going away with 3 children and my partner, and so, as much as I love my Polo Saloon, it just isn't big enough in the back for 3 car seats. Therefore, a friend of mine has offered to lend me his bigger car for the trip. The problem I have stumbled across though is - his insurance won't cover me abroad, even as a named driver, unless he comes aswell - which isn't an option - and my insurance won't cover me third party abroad either.

  • Hyundai i10 - Warranty Cover 16 Jan 2016 (Forum)
Recently bought my I10 Sep 2014 first registered Jan 2014, have suddenly developed water ingress and took it in to the dealer who confirmed a lot of water present in the car and told me it would need to have seats and carpets removed and dried and problem detected and fixed. However I get the feeling I could be subjected to a charge for this, the car is still on its 5 year warranty can I expect this to be covered by the warranty.

  • Second car and Insurance 5 Jun 2003 (Forum)
Hi, I'm considering buying a 'weekend' car and am wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a insurance compny which can offer competitive insurance on a car which is only covers small annual milages. I'm nearly 25 and have 4 years no claims on a 2 litre W reg diesel Vectra saloon and am looking at getting a mid eighties Capri or 2.8 Granada Ghia saloon, which would cover no more than say 4000 miles a year.
