  Futuristic New Primera Takes a Backward Look 17 Jan 2002 (News)
  Primera IV saloons and estates will be available in S, SE or SVE trim from March 2002. Engine choice will include a 116PS 1.8 with five-speed manual or automatic transmission: a 140PS 2.0 with Nissan's M-CVT automatic which also offers manual ratio selection; and a 126bhp 2.2 turbodiesel with six-speed manual box. Five door hatchbacks will follow in the summer along with a six-speed manual version of the 140PS 2.0.

  Honda Stream Reaches UK 25 May 2001 (News)
  Maximum power is a healthy 156bhp, giving the car a 0-60 of just over 9 seconds and a top speed of 127mph. A 5-speed sequential automatic is also offered, pulling the 0-60 back to 11 seconds and the top speed to 124mph, but in the real world this will matter less than tha slightly higher C02 per km of the automatic (216 g/km v/s 203 g/km).

  Engine options are a 107bhp 1.6 petrol with 105 lb ft (143Nm) torque; a 133bhp 1.8 petrol with 122 lb ft (165Nm) torque; and a 76bhp 1.5 common rail direct-injected turbodiesel with 125 lb ft (170Nm) torque. The 1.6 petrol engine will be available with manual or automatic transmission; the others manual only. At an overall length of 4,025mm Hyundai states that the Matrix is the shortest mini MPV on the market. Width is 1,740mm and height, 1,625mm. Versatility is enhanced by a 60/40 split sliding and double-folding rear seat.

  Lexus Introduces New IS300 Range 21 Feb 2001 (News)
  Lexus has finally filled the gap under the bonnet of its good looking, sporty IS200 by installing the 210bhp, 213 lb ft torque 3.0 litre VVT-I engine from its GS300. Complementing the new engine will be a 5-speed E-Shift automatic gearbox with manual push button controls on the steering wheel. As well as the saloon, Lexus has taken the opportunity to introduce a sports estate version of the IS300 to be known as the SportCross (see picture).
