  • Anyone here have a Megane CC? 14 Dec 2005 (Forum)
Not the fastest engine admittedly but seemed OK in the 3dr hatch I had. How is the roof? Easy to use? Any leak issues? Heat problems in the summer etc? Any other comments on ownership? Thanks Andrew
  • How much might this cost? 2 Aug 2005 (Forum)
My wife's 1999 Citroen Xsara 1.8 decided to deposit the contents of the cooling system through the heater matrix and into the passenger compartment. There's no over heating damage to the engine which is good, but i'm guessing the heater matrix and aircon might be in need of repair/replacement. Any ideas how much a job like this might cost / what's involved? Thanks in advance A very worried and soon to be poor dieselicious
  • Citroen ZX TD - Airlock 29 Oct 2004 (Forum)
Morning all, Since changing the thermostat on my ZX I think I have managed to get an airlock. The engine temp rises normally but even at a decent temp there is no heat from the blower. I saw a decent thread a bit ago about getting rid of airlocks in these engines but I can't find it in the archives. Can anyone tell me where I can find it ? Thanks Paul

  • RangeRover Door Mirrors 21 Jan 2002 (Forum)
tried to fit a new heated mirror glass to a 99 range rover that had come in after hitting a telegraph post, mirror lense has a pair of hooks & catches to snap onto the bezel ring that the 2 elec motors move around, but some of the bezel ring had broken off. checked with our dealer & the ring was available at grand cost of 80p+vat and in stock.
  • Dealer Rear Window Ads 10 Sep 2001 (Forum)
Does anyone have advice on the best way to remove an dealership window sticker which seems to be super-glued on and made from some alien material so brittle that you can just about peel off 1mm at a time. I'm worried about damaging the rear window heating element? It also almost fills the rear view window - toyota avensis hatchback! Thanks, Basis
  • Tesla Y - Tesla frosty in the Canada cold. 16 Jan 2022 (Forum)
I presented my case which was the $75k vehicle I purchased was not fully functional for our prairie climate within reasonable expectations.   Mark Kroeker· 8 Jan My concerns included the car could have unforeseen damage to the battery pack due to a malfunctioning HP ( heat pump) for well over a year, unsafe to drive in winter never knowing when it will quit again, among others too.   Mark Kroeker 8 Jan My concerns were listened to then politely explained away with technical explanations and corporate policies.
  • What's the best method for removing Mondeo heater plugs? 5 Dec 2016 (Ask HJ)

  • Mazda 2 - Tree falling on car 24 Apr 2012 (Forum)
The tree was an old tree and when the police came along they said that this happens sometimes when the ground is very wet.   Luckily he stopped after impact and he was not hurt and no other vehicles involved. Car needs a new windscreen but also a new radiator and some repairs to the engine and minor bodywork - cost probably £1,500 plus hire car. Insurance is a big problem as it my son's second accident within 2 years.
  • Suspension Lean 22 Jun 2003 (Forum)
I am wondering why my '92 Golf TDi MK3 has developed a lean to the drivers side. Measuring the height of the bodywork from the top of the wheel whilst the car is parked on a level surface, the near side wheel arch is about 1 inch higher off the ground than the offside. Therefore looking at the car from the front, the car appears to slope to the drivers side.
  • Drastic remedy for inconsiderate parking? 31 Jan 2010 (Forum)
While strolling down to the shops this pm, I noticed that a car parked in a side lane had a handwritten note tucked under the windscreen, so couldn't resist nipping across and having a look (I'm like that) It said (all in scrawled capitals): Dear Meriva Owner, if you park here any more I am going 2 burn your car to the ground The car was parked against a garden fence adjacent to a driveway but on the opposite side of the driveway to the property to which drive and fence belong, so not in view from the windows and not causing any obstruction to anyone entering or exiting the driveway.

  • Trade Description Act and Used Cars 10 Feb 2016 (Forum)
Good Morning, looking for some advice.  Purchased a used car from a well known dealership on the weekend. The advert stated that the car had front and rear parking sensors. Only the next day when I actually had to park with something behind the car did I realise there was no actual sensors.

  • 2001 Volvo V40 Estate - "HELP" Wanted 13 Apr 2010 (Forum)
Can anyone help me, i have a very annoying rattle coming from somewhere it seems worse when going slow,it seems to start at the front off side front and travel through the whole of the car from front to back, symtoms seem very similar to a loose exhaust system but  took it to local National Tyre Depot yesterday and they said the exhaust was ok,they had it jacked up on the ramp and spun all 4 wheels and they did not think it was a wheel bearing, their conclusions was rust on the discs which i dont think it is,i have cleaned the spare wheel well out and checked jack and wheel brace and they are firmally in place.I have bounced the 2 front suspensions legs up/down and there is no noise from them.
  • Audi TT & Michelin Pilot/Primacy tyres 8 Nov 2006 (Forum)
(This was confirmed with several tyre suppliers) After a week or so, driver said car felt skittish and unstable, pulling to the left , but as very poor a road (tramlines) thought it could be imagination. After another couple of weeks still a "problem" so changed the tyres both sides fronts to backs and vice versa, so both Pilots on fronts.- Instant cure.
  • Tyres - front or back? 31 Jul 2006 (Forum)
The Pirelli's appear to offer the best compromise, MIchelins would be better for the motorway but nowt like as good elsewhere, others are too soft to last on my high mileages. So, I'm happy with my choice. But. Front or back. Back obviously. Except the car tramlines a bit as it's on the nice looking but grabby 17" alloys. So, should I put the Pirellis on the front to reduce this (as apparently they will), or the back following conventional wisdom?
