Nissan Pathfinder - Replacement for Nissan Pathfinder 7 Oct 2019 (Forum)
We have looked at a new shogun sport but just wondered what else is available and if anybody had any thoughts on the shogun. Looking for something big space wise, with 4x4 so we can tow if needed but also go off road when required. Many thanks, -
Ford Ka - Car won't start 7 Jul 2018 (Forum)
The engine was making a whirring noise for about 5 mins and I could smell burning from under the bonnet, probably the drivers side. The engine was making a clicking noise then nothing. I've been towed to a garage to see what's wrong with it. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas? Thanks. -
mazda diesels-have they solved the problems? 10 May 2017 (Forum)
Currently looking at diesels for towing. The CX5 has come onto the radar. However on this forum the very mention of Mazda diesels has brought scorn upon the product. Obviously a wise manufacturer would work hard to eliminate problems from their products. -

Patrol man filled up rad with water and pressure tested and found leak in "the system somewhere", Towed to dealership and advised that a stone had pierced the rad. Was advised that this is not covered by warranty !! Anyone heard of this before or can offer advice please ? -
BMW 325i Touring - Bike Racks - BMW Touring 18 Nov 2013 (Forum)
I'm guessing that the non metal spoiler atop the tailgate doesn't support the weight? The only solution seems to be having a tow bar fitted at a cost of £500 or so. Does anyone know whether there is a rack that will fit the car ? Thanks -
Manual electrics 4 Apr 2013 (Forum)
However, I've always driven a manual and want to stay with a stick shift. The fuel savings versus automatic are particularly appreciated when I have the horse box in tow. Something like a G-Wiz or Twizy would be fine, but when are the manufacturers going to get the message that not all of us are fans of two-pedalled motoring? Are there any suitable vehicles for purchase early this month? -

Honda Accord Tourer (2003 - 2008) - 04 - 2.2 diesel - Sidelight Fuse Blown 19 Jan 2010 (Forum)
The headlights are OK, but when I hit the brake pedal, with the ignition switched off, the brake lights work and the rear fog light comes on at the same time I have a towing bracket and wonder if the associated wiring or relays are the problem. I'd be grateful for any assistance. -
Toyota Camry (2002 - 2006) - 02 2.4 Oil coolers 25 Aug 2009 (Forum)
Can you recommend any websites that let me know how I can buy one with advice on these devices. I understand that they are more suited to cars that tow as the gear box oil gets hotter in these cases! Thanks Greg -
Volkswagen Corrado (1989 - 1995) - 1992 2.0 In tank Fuel pump fitting 15 May 2008 (Forum)
It broke down last night after a bit of kangerooing. Turns over fine and produces an excellent spark. The RAC towed me home and the patrolman said it sounded like the in tank pump had just about had it. Is this an easy job to do and does anyone know of a repair/maintenance manual for it. Cheers -
BMW X5 E53 SUV (2000 - 2007) - X5 3.0D + fill of unleaded! Here's your bill sir! 28 Feb 2008 (Forum)
A family member recently filled up their X5 diesel with unleaded and drove it several miles before realising their mistake. The car was towed to the local BMW dealer and the fuel system replaced. Guess how much the final bill was? I was surprised to hear that the insurance company coughed for it as it was considered an acccident - just as well! -
Honda or Vauxhall? 22 Mar 2007 (Forum)
I expect these to be about the same price (£495): 1995 M Vauxhall Cavalier 2ltr GLSi 5 door hatch back met green e/windows s/roof c/lock tow bar 11mo. MOT 5mo. tax. 1995 2.2 Automatic Honda Accord Estate (Aerodeck?), leather , air cond. 5mo. MOT, 10mo. tax. Which might be the better bet, from the point of view of running costs, potential longevity, repairability, style? -
1992 BMW 525i Touring 8 Jan 2006 (Forum)
Right here goes. Having a spare insurance policy and the need for something to tow a trailer I decided to look for a large state for occasional use. So i'm off on Monday to look at a supposedly immaculate 1992 BMW 525i Touring, for sale at £1000. I haven't the faintest idea of what to look for and wondered if anyone could give me a few hints. -
how can I stop my rogue car alarm? 11 Aug 2005 (Forum)
I am getting embarrasses with neighbours looking out of their curtains in the early hours to see who the noisy culprit is. Their is also a switch on the dash with a tow hook symbol which effects the alarm but no instruction on how to use it. -
Diesel and Automatic - ideas? 9 Mar 2004 (Forum)
He'd also like a diesel if possible, as nearly all his journeys are long motorway ones, and economy is important. It also needs to be capable of towing a 2 berth caravan. It'll do around 15k miles a year and be kept for the next 10 years or so. All ideas gratefully received! Thanks, Ian -
Slush boxes and caravans 15 Dec 2003 (Forum)
I do not believe that autos and caravans mix in any case as you do not have the control you need. Plus as small a car as this is not designed for towing and I belive he will just destroy the torque converter. Am I over reacting? -
Subaru Legacy - Owner Experience 8 Aug 2003 (Forum)
Just read HJ CBC Breakdown on this model and, in theory, seems quite a good bet as a used 3 year old buy. The 4WD and low range would be useful for occasional towing plus estate car practicality. Do any of the BR community own one, or know of one, and if so what has their experience been. I'm mainly interested in fuel economy, handling, reliability and any horror story catastrophic failures of major components. -
Citroen C5 (2001 - 2008) - 2.2HDi engine - any views ? 30 Apr 2002 (Forum)
When you first test drove the C5 with the 2.2 diesel engine you had reservations about that particular engine. I would be interested to have the latest view please as I am looking for a tow car for my caravan but do not want an estate and the C5 hatchback 2.2HDi SX has many attractive features including the driving position which is very important.
