• 2001 ford galaxy 2.3 - Heater problem 19 Dec 2014 (Forum)
  Hello I have a  problem with my 2001 galaxy 2.3 heater controls.....The fan is working but seems to be stuck on cold also the air-con is not working and the buttons do not light up and also it only blows onto the windscreen. I have tried the battery disconnect / reset and tried removing and reinstalling the control unit to no avail. Is my control unit dead....? .   P.S. the rear control unit seems to be non-op too.

    Used to have iGo sat nav but the thing fell of the windscreen while on holiday in Portugal so bought a replacement, a Germin Nuvi from Staples for €80. Over a year later I thought I update it. They want £75 for a lifetime of updates and £50 for a year.

  Just got two small chips in my windscreen. They are right in the drivers line of sight, but are only 1 or 2mm in size. So no MOT fail and not affecting my vision. No cracks have appeared. Do these need repairing urgently? I am only on 3rd party insurance, so getting AutoGlass to repair it is out of the question.

  Daughters rear view mirror detached itself from the windscreen. I got a double sided sticky pad ( and a spare) from a motor factors, took the old pad off and, in a huury, thought I had restored things to normal. No so !!!. A call to say it lasted just a couple of miles :-(( I will admit to not cleaning the screen.

  The snow finally hit West Yorks last night. Went out this morning and the usual numpties were out who had cleared the windscreen and not much else, but one BMW 5 series driver really had us puzzled. All windows cleared apart from the back, but they had taken the trouble to clear snow from around the rear window mounted stop light!

  i had a new windscreen 6 months ago and have done my best to look after it. Recently with the gritters about i got a lovely scratch in the drivers view. Its not deep atall just quite long. Just wondered what products are available that wont make matters worse?

  Is this a common problem with these vectra's because at the moment i spend more time looking out of the drivers window than the windscreen. thanks chris

  We bought a 2nd hand ex-Toyota fleet 04 reg Corolla a few months back and on washing it recently, saw a sticker on the windscreen which says 'Made in Japan'. It's not a dealer sticker, or a 'We are Toyota, look at us' sticker, but a small opaque sticker in the top right hand corner. Where was our Corolla made and what would be the differences if it was a Japanese one?
