Aston Martin dealer now selling mini DB Convertible for children 31 Jan 2014 (News)
Aston Martin Heritage dealer Nicholas Mee is now selling a fully functional petrol-powered mini Aston Martin model, suitable for anyone aged 10 and up – it’ll even fit an adult. Priced from £16,5000, the shrunken replica of a 1960s DB, which is two-and-a-half metres long, is powered by a 110cc petrol engine linked to a three-speed semi-automatic transmission. It’s not just a toy – top speed is 46mph and everything works, from the headlights and indicators to the electric starter and the horn. -

Homologation Mini Cooper 970S could fetch £50,000 28 Jun 2017 (News)
A 1964 Mini Cooper 970S is up for sale. The homologation special was created to allow the Cooper to qualify for the under-1000cc category in racing and rallying. Just 963 were made between 1964 and 1965 (badged as either Austin or Morris), making this an unusual lot. -

BMW 'scrappage scheme' to offer £2000 for older diesels 7 Aug 2017 (News)
Owners of older diesel BMWs will be offered £2000 off a new BMW or MINI as part of a 'scrappage scheme'. The manufacturer offer applies to older diesel BMW or MINI models that meet Euro 4 standards or less, almost all pre-2005 vehicles. The replacement must be a BMW i3 , a plug-in hybrid or a Euro 6 vehicle with CO2 emissions of up to 130g/km. The scheme will initially run until 31 December 2017. -

Time warp John Cooper Special Mini heads to auction 13 Jun 2016 (News)
A low-mileage 1990 John Cooper Special Mini will be one of the stars of the Classic Car Auctions sale at the weekend. The Mini, which has just 292 miles on the clock, will go under the hammer on Saturday, 18 June, and could fetch as much as £14,000. -

Classic cars put to work 11 Sep 2014 (News)
The initiative is now in its fourth year and aims to show the wider public how classic owners keep the nation’s motoring heritage alive by using their cars on the daily commute. Some of the cars that got a run in to work were a 1989 Austin Mini Mayfair, a 1971 VW Camper, a 1979 Austin Mini and a 1989 Austin Mini Mayfair. BMW Group seeks 30 UK apprentices 28 Jan 2016 (News)
BMW Group is looking for 30 apprentices to join teams at three sites around the UK – the MINI Plant in Oxford, the Hams Hall Plant near Birmingham, where engines for MINI and BMW cars are produced and the Swindon Plant, where sub-assemblies and stampings for MINI models are made. Candidates will work alongside experienced BMW employees across a range of roles, including engineering, maintenance, IT, finance and logistics. The 30 new arrivals will join 224 existing apprentices and will gain an NVQ level three qualification over a period of three to four years. -
Rare 1961 Oselli Mini 'Barn Find' Headlines Classic Car Auction 10 Aug 2012 (News)
An extremely rare 1961 Mini, modified by Oselli to 1,125cc, goes under the hammer in Barons British Heritage auction at Sandown Park on 18th September. This particular car is one of the famous performance tuning specialist’s first conversions, but was taken off the road in the early 1980s, then sat gathered dust in a garage for the past 31 years. -

Looking like it had just won the Monte Carlo Rally, this 40k mile 98R John Cooper edition Mini really sparkled and, instead of dying at about £2,500, bid all the way to sell for an over book retail £3,850. “Where do you go with that?” asked one trader. And the answer had to be, unless you know someone who wants a really nice original Mini, you end up driving around in it. -

Classic Mini ‘reborn’ for modern day driving 6 Apr 2017 (News)
A British coachbuilder is launching a revised version of the classic Mini that promises to keep all of its charm but is better suited for modern day motoring. Silverstone-based David Brown will take a classic Mini and turn it into a modern city car, softening its classic lines, improving the engine, and adding in a host modern conveniences like keyless entry, Apple CarPlay… and a cup holder. -
Mini motorists welcome at museum 7 Feb 2018 (News)
The British Motor Museum is to hold a series of Mini Motorists events this year. The activity days are aimed children under five and have proved a huge hit with younger enthusiasts. They take place on a regular monthly basis and are held on Mondays. There’s no need to book – just turn up at the Gaydon-based museum between 10.30am and 12pm and help your little person discover the fun of four wheels. Monthly activitie vary but often include story-telling, crafts, automotive Duplo, playtime with toy cars, cars to sit in, dressing up and sing-a-longs.
