• 2015 Audi A3 vs 2015 Hyundai i30 - Please offer some advice 16 Nov 2017 (Forum)
  Kindly if you could give me some advice would be greatly appreciated.  I am trying to decide between buying either a 2015 Audi A3 5 door or a 2015 Hyundai i30 5 door both used, with around 50000 miles done. I am inclined towards buying the Audi because it is a solid manufacturer but from what I understand the cost of maintenance, servicing and parts are quite high which is an important factor for me.

  I have two choices of car as mentioned in the subject, but here is more detail. The audi has 200,000 With FSH, on a 04 plate, The volvo has 75,000 FSH on a 53 plate I know this seems to be a no brainer however a family member owns a similar audi and has covered nearly 300,000 miles with few problems.

  I thought I'd let you all know how I got on with the Audi 'box I posted about a while ago. I agreed with the rebuilder that I pay £150 for the reconditioning of the gearbox. The differential unit would be returned without the 'new' bits, end of story. There was a minor upset when they failed to return the drive flanges with the differential, then returned the wrong ones.
